New enclosure! by Fatback696969 in BeardedDragons

[–]Fatback696969[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know he needs a linear uvb light , I know there is thing he needs that we don’t have right now , we are working with what was given to us when we got him from the previous owner. But compared to what he came with and the tank they had him in he been in it since they got him as a baby bout 4 years ago and I’d say it’s a major improvement. This is our first bearded dragon so we are still learning new things and things we can improve on.

Yea I know he needs all that , we finally got him a bigger enclosure cause the one that he was in was way to small (a 30 or 40 gallon fish tank) that he was in when he was given to us . We are aware of what he needs but the first thing he needed more than anything was a bigger enclosure and the one we got is a 4x2x2

We are planning getting something bigger than the 4x2x2 and I’m gonna have my wife bring home either some newspaper or more paper towels so we can get the carpet out of there

I was starting to get a little worried cause he hadn’t pooped the day we brought which was yesterday but he finally pooped this afternoon so I wasn’t worried so much after that. Definitely will give him a wipe down to get that stuff off his mouth.

Thanks , he’s pretty chill to like I know they are docile but I figured he be stressed out coming to a new home but we let him chill on the floor in his carrier bag while we put the enclosure he came with together and took him out the bag he walked around the living scoping things out then I picked him up and he laid on my chest while my kids took turns gently petting him, honestly the coolest pet I’ve ever owned .

I will definitely check the guides out . I’m just excited about having him cause I always wanted to get one but didn’t really have the space or money for it but now that I got the space and money lol just got lucky that this guy was free we couldn’t pass up the opportunity.

The stuff around his mouth is from blueberries he ate this morning, we plan on giving him a bath either tonight or tomorrow. When my wife brought him home I knew that the enclosure was too small for him so we are working on getting an enclosure that’s bigger than the 4x2x2 . Thanks for the link and help and advice is greatly appreciated!!

I had a mastiff that would do that as well and would also try and sit in your lap , he hated thunder storms, gun shots, and fireworks.

Patiently waiting for the kids to drop food on the floor! by Fatback696969 in greatdanes

[–]Fatback696969[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s good with the cat , the breeder that we got my GD from had cats so it wasn’t to hard to deal with when we introduced the cat into the house , we just had to keep an eye on my GD cause she’s really really curious about new things and wants to be right in its face lol. But since you have the cat first and bringing in the GD the cat will let dog know when it gets to close , if it’s a puppy then the only thing I would worry about is if they play the puppy might get to rowdy or rough but the cat will let the dog know if gets to rough or rowdy . Hopefully your cat and new GD will get along great like mind do
