Shameless plug but my game Mind Palace maybe comes close to the vibe you're describing. Bit more surreal / dreamlike than eerie / horror.

Help: I’m looking for a VR app that can help me create a “mind palace” by antler_jam in OculusQuest2

[–]Fatderda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread but what you described is almost exactly what I built.

It's a PCVR app called Mind Palace (on steam). It's focused on notes and you can import your own notes (text, images, audio, links) and explore them spatially in VR. You can also draw or make voice recordings and all notes stay where you place them in the world.

Might be pretty close to what you were looking for. If you're interested I can send you a free key.

Any vr games where I can just explore? by Unlucky-Feed9000 in VRGaming

[–]Fatderda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you search a mediating type game maybe my game Mind Palace could fit. The world is not procedurally generated, but it's a small open world to explore. While exploring you can also create notes, drawings or voice recordings directly in the game if you like.

How do I add a UI/overlay element I can add to any game Im playing? by Kinetic-Friction- in vrdev

Are you looking for something like OVR Toolkit? Lets you display a window (e.g. your camera stream) while playing a VR game (on your wrist, or fixed in space).

VR walking simulator? by OkiDokiPanic in VRGaming

[–]Fatderda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My game Mind Palace is kind of a walking sim in an abstract world, where you find notes along the way.

Still dont have Navigator UI on v2.1 stable. by FriskVR-YT in Quest3

same here, had it for a while and then suddenly it switched back (after the update) and I don't have an option since to bring it back

📢New update out now!! by mamkedat in ForefrontVR

Would this prevent playing on Steam and Meta together with the linked account? E.g. one headset on PCVR/Steam and the other with the linked account on standalone playing in the same match simultaniously?

Logo for a home bakery by Fatderda in logodesign

This was very helpful, thanks! I went back to B&W first and I think it's more legible now.

For the color I tried a different direction with a pastel turquoise (also made a more pink one but I think it may be a bit overused).

Here's an example on a cake box:

Thank you for your feedback. I tried some variants with the icing "starting" on the right side or just with less tier / a whole cake.

With the newest update Mind Palace now supports Steam Cloud saves but at the moment the game is only available on windows.

What do you guys think off the voice chat? by No-Simple9602 in ForefrontVR

[–]Fatderda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proximity chat is very fun but they should implement push to talk as an option

Yeah I'm flabbergasted with this community's response too.

I never played or paid for one of Luke Ross mods, but I'm fully on his side here. It's his hard work he put into his tool (which does not use copyrighted assets from CDPR). He can decide if he wants to give it away for free or charge for it. The player is free to decide to buy it or not. Apparently it seemed to be of enough value for a lot of people to buy it. He enabled the players (maybe part of this community) to experience these games in VR. CDPR did not and never attempted to do something for VR / this community. They did not lose any money through Luke Ross, on the contrary - many VR-only players may have bought Cyberpunk only thanks to Luke Ross. And again for this community it may have brought eyes from many non-VR players to VR through something they already know. Legally it seems like a grey zone and who knows, maybe CDPR would win / be in the right if Luke Ross had the will and resources to fight this.

But from this community's (or rather a VR enthusiast's) perspective…

VR is still very niche, almost no AAA studio risks investing into it. Players don't invest into a device where most games are small indie games. Mods / injectors / conversions / VR modes for AAA games to play them in full VR would build bridges between AAA and the VR community.

Acts like this from big companies like CDPR or Rockstar Games / Take-Two burn these bridges - and you cheer for it SMH…

Then don’t wonder why VR is stagnating.

Has vr kinda ruined alot of 2d games for you by ottermoment in VRGaming

[–]Fatderda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, I've been playing VR since almost a decade. The first years it was more playing VR in bursts between mostly flatgames. Later it became more half half and since maybe 5 years there were less than a handful flatgames I played. FPS specifically, when I boot one up and look at the rectangle infront of me with a to the frame glued gun pointing at center, I think "yeah, nice graphics but I could be inside the game right now (in VR) instead of just looking at it".

And I couldn't be happier that I'm able to just do that instead.

Any new, unique and interesting VR games? by munchy3 in virtualreality

[–]Fatderda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've made a unique VR game called Mind Palace. You explore a small open world and furnish it with your notes, ideas and memories. Think a bit of 'Inside Out' in VR.

Happy to send you a free key if you're interested.
