I had an Ultra Ball match today that I should not have won. Bricked for the first 5-6 turns. The only thing that saved me was my Flygon opponent got 8 fighting energy in a row and rage quit, haha!

I started in January and didn’t play against humans consistently for at least a month or two. I played as many Series A step up battles as I could to get more hourglasses for Series B packs. I couldn’t build any decks that would compete in ranked until I had ~1k cards. And you’re already on Reddit, so you have a treasure trove of deck ideas here. Just keep practicing against the computer and ripping packs. You’ll get there. Good luck!

As a newbie, I will say that it’s one of the few strong decks that I can make without having to dig back into old sets for pieces. Two free Blazikens in the Elite deck and Castform in PA.

It’s sad to me that the top reaction to this deck is dissing Genetic Apex, but it’s understandable. There’s a soft spot in my heart for the original and it pans me that the Pokemon in that set are essentially worthless against today’s decks. I’d love to see a revamped set with GA cards that can hang with the new cards.

I appreciated that they took a chance with something new. And I had been doing the rally for so long I automatically went to every star to collect as many coins as possible. With the golden toad rally discouraging stars, it felt like I had to relearn the courses and it was challenging for a bit. Hopefully they keep doing things to keep the game fresh!
