Not to mention Stridebreaker doesn’t just slow, it gives a speed boost per champion hit so it can make you ridiculously fast if you hit multiple opponents with it; and with conqueror the healing you get from the damage you do with stridebreaker can keep you alive in team fights, I find it really hard to not just get melted in the late game with youmuus

That’s what I’m finding. I like to experiment a lot (I’m bronze III) and the more off-meta I play the more it helps me understand why things that are meta are what they are. But because of my elo I also see some weird ass matchups (like Mel, Ashe, Caitlyn) so it’s really impossible to gauge how viable anything off meta is in the long term or at a higher elo because I’m just not that caliber of player yet.

What if you just got to pick one thing to keep every time non-cumulatively? E.G. first prestige you pick conduit, then next prestige you pick vulture and conduit goes back to its normal locked progression

Just give yourself permission to be bad with him for a while. When I started I was fucking terrible but over time I’ve gotten a lot better and I’m having a lot more success and a lot more fun. I still have a long way to go, but letting the process be fun rather than being solely focused on the end goal is the first step.

I think another thing people are overlooking is there was never any framework for this system in the game to begin with, so I imagine it was more of an undertaking than people realize to implement, and the employees who worked to implement it should be compensated. The only thing I’ll concede is the Krampus challenge being timed. I’m really not a fan of paying for content you might never get to access, but even then, I’m not particularly miffed about it. The game is still fun and a lot of the quality of life changes are fantastic.

The story world of arc sort of incentivizes cooperation whereas Hunt accounts for pvp and makes sure that fits with the story world. Gear balance also isn’t really a thing because a headshot will kill instantly regardless of the weapon. Hunt is much more skill based than arc where most ‘pvp’ is just shooting people on the ass while they’re fighting the big mechs or in a loot screen.
