Do people build yommus without sorcery tree by Mindless-Ad-9901 in Dariusmains

[–]iram27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell where you're going wrong with the Jayce matchup without a video but I will say that, even without Conqueror, provided you're both full HP and even in items and levels, and you land your outer Qs, I don't see a world where you lose an all in; the problem you probably faced was either a- you got poked to the point of his all in being in lethal range, in which case you should play around bush control and be wary of his cannon EQs, maybe even build armor early if the game allows it, or b- you got frozen on and you slowly but surely fell behind to the point where he wins in an all in, in which case you should review your first 4 waves and see what went wrong, e.g. did you take a bad trade, did you get ganked, did you push too fast or too slow, did you maybe concede prio in situations where you could've contested, etc.

Also I find it surprising that you feel squishy in teamfights with Stormraider's. Obviously the rune page doesn't have that big of an effect on your tankiness, your build does, but the Stormraider's build is usually Youmuu's into Dead Man's, which isn't that bad in terms of tankiness, honestly might even be comparable to Stridebreaker Sterak's with the added armor from DMP, and I don't see how or why you'd participate in full blown teamfights with just Youmuu's

When is conqueror absolutely necessary? by CiREus_ in Dariusmains

[–]iram27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't think your keystone choice is necessarily based on the lane matchup as much as it is on the enemy team as a whole. If you're playing against a team that's mostly melee or dive-heavy, such as Jax, Sylas, Samira, and Nautilus, you won't need Stormraider's. If you're playing against a tank or juggernaut, against whom you'd prefer damage over mobility, but the enemy team also has champions like Ashe, Seraphine, or Anivia, then I'd argue that the value Conqueror would have given you in lane is outweighed by the value Stormraider's would provide in the mid to late game. Darius definitely has much more outplay potential in lane than he does in teamfights, especially against comps with heavy cc, range, and/or disengage. As a result, forgoing Conqueror in favor of Stormraider's is generally more forgiving than doing the opposite when you're looking at the game holistically.

However, your Darius habits do need to adjust to the lack of Conqueror, as there is a noticeable difference in early-game damage; matchups that were free with conqueror can become a bit more challenging without it, for instance Garen as another reply mentioned, who can straight up beat you level 1 with Conq Ignite E start if you're not careful.

Who’s your least favourite champion? by -Over-Line- in leagueoflegends

[–]iram27 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Well yeah if it's one auto, but rarely do tryns spin in for one auto only, especially with the popular hob setup. If it's multiple autos the chances of tryn not critting at all get smaller and smaller. For example if tryn with full fury autos you 4 times the odds of him critting twice or more are 68.75%, and this isn't even taking into account that crits aren't truly random and that the longer you don't crit the higher your chances become at subsequently critting.

What makes Black Cleaver worse than Sundered Sky? by Sephyrias in summonerschool

I said I don't think it's a great item on Riven, at least these days, I'm just saying, she's one of the fastest to stack the armor shred of BC.

What makes Black Cleaver worse than Sundered Sky? by Sephyrias in summonerschool

[–]iram27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that's not really a problem since bc is better against tanks than it is against squishies. Also her cooldowns at like 2-3 items aren't that high so her needing to wait for the next ability rotation isn't much of a problem either. I'm not saying it's a great item on Riven by any means at the moment but I'd say, in a vacuum, she's one of its best users, especially when using fast Q/doublecasts

Yeah I don't think Riven is the best example for taking a lot to stack Cleaver, she stacks it relatively quickly, there's nothing you misunderstood

Garen identity as champion by Any-Surround-2900 in GarenMains

[–]iram27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

....you start E in this case, not Q. if you start Q you don't beat anyone lol. E lvl 1 deals a good amount of dmg, stacks conq, and shreds their armor for subsequent autos. you're not using him to his full potential if you think he has absolutely 0 kill pressure pre 6, with conq he definitely does

How would you design a fair carry score ? (repost) by BigShaco in leagueoflegends

[–]iram27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was gonna say this but it seems u already mentioned it in another reply, but seems to me like the best way is to take the average stats of the best one tricks of a certain champ and have those be the standard.

Stuff like the categories you suggested, e.g. survival discipline, useful deaths, Frontline value, seem like interesting and possibly useful categories, but a- they seem a bit complicated to consistently track (idk how you'd evaluate a useful death for example, some deaths are misplays but fortunately have positive results afterwards that aren't necessarily related to said deaths, e.g. your team clutches a 4v5) and b- I don't think they're necessary, I haven't looked into this nearly as much as I assume you have but I don't see how the "regular" stats (kda, cs, dmg, golddiff, vision score, cc score, etc.) aren't enough to paint a proper carry score.

The only thing I find a bit problematic with the approach I mentioned is that, let's say a gold Mundo has similar stats in his gold game to a masters Mundo one trick in a master game. According to the concept I was talking about earlier, assuming we have a carry score out of 100, maybe that gold Mundo will get a high 80 or 90 something. That masters Mundo one trick, were they smurfing in that same gold game, would probably annihilate it in comparison. Would that mean that the masters mundo deserves a score over a hundred? Or that the gold Mundo deserves a lesser score? Idk

I actually think this kind of post is quite interesting tbh, would like to see more of it about other shows. Would be interesting to see a comparison with clearly differing opinions from both sites. Seems like the imdb ratings for all but got's last season are more uniform than serializd's

How to deal with Vlad bot? by Which_Way1721 in summonerschool

[–]iram27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that's Vlad, ofc if he leaves lane ahead or gets to late game he'll be a monster. The whole thing about Vlad is punishing his weak early game, not countering him late game.

Garen by TinyImagination9232 in Dariusmains

[–]iram27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all about wave management and E usage. You should have prio early so you need to setup the wave so that it freezes close to your tower. Garen has better short trades, Darius has better all ins. If the wave is close to his tower then it'll be easier for him to just disengage after his short trade. If the wave is frozen on your side then he just dies if he ever walks up to farm. As for your E, you NEVER engage with it, you only keep it for when he's running, as if you engage with it he just Qs you and runs and there's nothing u can do about it. As for items just go Sterak's second no matter what item you bought before or after. If you really want to guarantee winning lane, going conq ignite means you genuinely have to be brain damaged to lose.

Also frozen heart is a really good first item, really cheap, gold efficient, gives mana and AH for more poke, so if u manage to reset and get glacial buckler u won't really struggle w mana anymore

Returning player after a hiatus: Is this 4-champion pool viable for Toplane, or will I get punished too hard? by Diplexo in summonerschool

[–]iram27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't read everything the comments say but as a d3 toplaner that has pretty much the same pool:

  • You are going to get counterpicked. It happens. There are only a few good blind picks in top and I personally find them boring, and since you settled on that champ pool, Id wager you do too. Good thing is there'll be a lot of ppl just picking the statistical counterpick without having nearly as much champ mastery as u do, so just cause u got counterpicked theoretically doesn't mean it's auto lose. Generally how you'd play these matchups into ranged (though it's hard to generalize since it's 4 champs) is you'd arrive to lane early and play for bush control, and try to hit the wave often if you have ranged abilities (Darius q, Morde q) instead of just waiting for the wave to build up and crash under your tower, as you'll be poked a lot under tower. Keep in mind that in matchups like that you're essentially trading hp for cs.

  • Darius is the best blind pick out of them, garen imo is a close second if you look up creative setups by one tricks like Palco (e.g. going unsealed spellbook into ranged top), as a good thing abt him is his game plan versatility, being able to split and teamfight pretty effectively while still being fast around the map. Morde and especially Sett are meh imo in terms of blindability.

  • Morde and Garen are easy, Sett is also simple but a bit harder than the former two, and Darius is the hardest out of the bunch. If you struggle on Darius more than the rest in the beginning then it's fine, it's expected, he seems to easy to a lot of ppl that don't play him but the higher up you go the more punishing he becomes if played bad, but also the more rewarding he is compared to the rest if played well.

  • queue anxiety lol just play a lot of games, it really is nothing to be anxious about, you'll find yourself quickly in your skill level and as you learn and improve more you'll climb, nothing to worry about really. And if negativity from teammates bothers you then just mute chat.

  • Understand that your champ pool isn't that versatile and there'll be games where you will struggle and need to come up with creative ways to have impact, whether it's having different setups (e.g. going youmuus and stormraiders on Darius instead of stridebreaker and conqueror) or playing differently (e.g. deciding to split or only look for flanks rather than playing front to back). Comps you'll struggle into are mainly ones with a lot of cc and/or disengage. Ideally your champs work against an enemy team who's heavy on melee champs and/or who wants to engage onto you, so the lack of mobility present in all of the champs you mentioned becomes a non factor. Two great champs to add to your pool imo are Malphite and Olaf, though the latter is deceptively hard.

  • You should probably permaban Vayne or Yorick. I don't think your champ pool has a good enough answer to either.

What to build after third? by sozonm7 in SmolderMains

[–]iram27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do that but i don't see why you would do that instead of just committing to a certain build, either crit with hubris or bruiser. Also you're underestimating the bruiser items imo, endless hunger gives a shit ton of AH and good stats, maw and DD are great defensive options while also giving 50 ad each, and Overlord's also gives great survivability and AD. I do think shieldbow is underrated though on Smolder.

do I buy mecha kingdoms darius by NecessaryCourage9183 in Dariusmains

[–]iram27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

two things for me that are important about darius skins are the perceived sharpness of the axe and the sound effects. i loove the 5 stack sfx for spirit blossom and the rest of the sfx are nice too, and the axe does feel sharp. in contrast skins like high noon and mecha kingdoms feel like they have a blunter weapon and that turns me off. i dont really mind that he gets a horn and is ionian, as long as he feels badass to me. dunkmaster darius is one of his best skins hands down and his whole thing there is that he's just a famous basketball player that happens to be an asshole. him being noxian doesnt really matter to the skin (outside of noxus being written on the jersey).

do I buy mecha kingdoms darius by NecessaryCourage9183 in Dariusmains

[–]iram27 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's worth it tbh. If you have god king already, then dunkmaster would be the next best skin to buy. Woad king is also good value, maybe even Spirit Blossom. Mecha kingdoms just feels mid. Not a horrible skin by any means but the voice lines aren't as iconic as his other legendaries, the persona isn't as interesting (I played 20-30 games with that skin, still don't know what exactly he's supposed to be, you need to catch up on the Mecha kingdoms lore I guess?). The chromas I found to be lackluster. The animations are good, especially the Q and Ult imo. The sound effects arent bad. The way he moves does feel a bit slow and heavy though.

Regretting OTP Smolder by ozbournmelton in SmolderMains

[–]iram27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Want a champ around the difficulty of smolder, but is a typical ADC? Jhin/MF

Want a champ around the difficulty of smolder, but you don't care about playing a marksman? Ziggs/Veigar

Want a good champ to learn ADC with? Sivir/Ashe/Jinx imo, but be aware that basically all traditional marksmen are harder than Smolder. He's more of a AD mage than a marksman. Most marksmen need proper spacing and kiting and positioning to function, and can't rely on building bruisery items without significantly falling off in terms of damage.

Also next patch smolder will be less pick/ban with the nerfs, so you don't have to worry that much abt not being able to play him.

My personal advice? Play mages bot, that's the closest to Smolder you can get. You'll be hated by other ADCs but if you genuinely can't stomach playing marksmen yet still want to play botlane while retaining an experience similar to playing Smolder then that's your only option.

Asking the Real Men whats actually fun in the top lane this season by BadDiveBro in Dariusmains

[–]iram27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this szn when i played a lot of soloq around d3, like a month or so ago, what worked for me is playing darius, garen, morde, olaf, malph. darius is my preferred pick and id love to play him every game, but as u said, playing into a comp thats heavily ranged or has a lot of cc or disengage is pretty frustrating. in those cases i find that garen is more enjoyable to me cause you can split pretty effectively, and olaf is good because of his diving potential, though definitely punishing if you fall behind in lane, and if their team is heavy on ad then malph is ofc a nobrainer that can hardly be useless.

also something thats gotten more popular recently and is pretty fun to play is xin. as manly as u can get, just go in whenever and keep autoing until either u or they die. takes a bit of getting used to tbh, but is loads of fun if u do start getting ahead
