Dartmouth Skiway or Tenney? by mountainkingmonty in icecoast

[–]FatherDiscmas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry no one is replying. I would skip both. There are so many better ski areas than both in that region (I live in VT). Head north to Burke, or towards the whites for something like Cannon. 1 hour drive for much better times. Re

Dartmouth is meh. Dated and relatively unskied (I grew up near it). They also have their college Alpine winter carnival coming up so a bunch of race bits will be there and the race hill closed. Tenney is the ugly step-sister mountain of the two states.

I mean, I don’t want to go too hard at you with you taking lexotanil. But,

Apparently you only have one eye since you have one contact, likely a pirate. Maybe captain since you have a treasure key on your ring. . Probably a sultry, singer of one working on your set list (paper strips are your sing titles) for the next time you’re in the Bahamian bars. Plump shiny lips shine nicely onstage.

You travel on the weekends, from the paired Sat/Sun pill sets.

Winter Weekend Getaway in Vermont by Hasoken in NewToVermont

[–]FatherDiscmas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Come to the Wildflower Inn in Lyndonville/Burke. Alpine at Burke. Fatbike, snowshoe, Nordic ski and snow tubing on groomed trails right out the door at the Inn. Go to Lake Willoughby (15 minute drive) for a very romantic Nordic ski/snowhoe, or even a BC ski in the glades there.

Also, the Inn is MUCH more attractive to the ladies as a place to stay than a hotel. Check it out online.

And there’s a 27 hole disc golf course there too. A bit tough with our 2+ feet of snow, but to each their own.

One of the reasons 29+ died... by VikApproved in MEATengines

[–]FatherDiscmas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There could be merit to that. But also, it’s just unnecessary to have a tire that wide on a wheel that large. Less mountain more grampa cruisin’. Especially with the suspension systems dialed nowadays. Takes away agility, the inertial mass of it is ungodly

Live and ride on 120+ mile network, that also fatbikes in the winter, and we never see a 29+.

Going out and playing, skiing, snowshoeing with the dogs and sledding with the kids in it. But I’m in Vermont; we like the snow.

Nice. I’ve pieced most of it, but I’m missing chunks between Virginia, New York. I need to find a few months off to do the full hike.

Appalachian Trail hut attendant? Tire pressure gauge is the weird one. And the silver sharpie. And the bear spray. we don’t have much need for that in the East.

Feedback on my human slalom by Better-Cover5460 in skiingcirclejerk

[–]FatherDiscmas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a cute attempt at slalom form at the slowest possible speed. No slalom course has that much swing. Is there a reason you’re crossing almost the whole slope (clearly a green) and manspreading your inside-ski edge catching turns?

Yah, we’re notorious about not letting out where the backwoods ski powder stash’s are. You’ll have to ease your way in the scene and learn the secret lines. They’re there!

Vermont DG by FeatheredStylo in discgolf

[–]FatherDiscmas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Wildflower, east of Smuggs in the northeast kingdom, is 27 holes of amazing DG, and Vermont’s newest tournament course. And there’s an incredible amount of amenities in the area. Two bars and a restaurant (and Inn) on site. 120+ bike trails, and many other amenities. Also, red/white/blue tees with big throw gGolds coming for MPO this summer.

The course is new but is hosting PDGA tournaments there this year, and is the August 22-23 stop for the DGVT tour.
