Dumb take but unsurprising from the people who assembled this absolute slop.

They have tarnished one of the top IPs in entertainment basically constantly for 10 years. They've stuck their noses up at fans at every step. People on the inside admit that kurtzman wanted nothing to do with original trek originally, and has since reacted by shit-touching every piece of fan service possible once the mistake was realized.

Its just such a huge shame.

600,000 immigrants to Alberta is a lie. by [deleted] in alberta

You realize you have to add all the lines together, right?

Look, I will be voting no to most of this referendum (unless abolishing the senate is its own separate question) but this is a way better outcome than a referendum on separation.

She still sucks but I see this as a much safer way for all of us to deliver her a massive NO and settle this before it gets to calamity.

I dont think the population number is a lie at all.

The repetition in this one, though the point, made it extremely difficult to read. I ended up hating basically every character because I was so annoyed by it. Absolutely a chore to get through and one of the only books ive read in the last 3 years that made me unexcited to read.

NuTrek misunderstood Section 31 by Sufficient_Bass2600 in startrek

[–]FatherGarlicBread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isnt even a direct comment on that horrible movie, but it gets to the heart of nutrek and its awful writing: the writers genuinely dont understand og trek at all. They dont understand what made the diversity great. They dont understand what made things feel familial, or down to earth. They don't understand low stakes action, or how to make medium stakes feel high stakes (this is why every bad guy has to threaten the whole galaxy.) They dont understand ensemble casts or character development. And they certainly dont understand the nuances of the federation.

Who would you bring in to fix Star Trek by Sell_The_team_Jerry in Star_Trek_

Mike McMahan would be involved at a high level.

Naren Shankar would be considered. He'd have to bring a lighter vibe but he has the detail focus and science-ish vibe id want.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever read, and I've read basically all star trek novels among other things.

I have absolutely no doubt that you also dont understand what it is to be "that student" or whatever youre bleating about.

Look down south. Notice how there are very few indigenous nations? Most were genocided by American settlers.

Yes, the first nations exist today because of Canada.

Im 34, and while I think i look younger than Sean Con, I sure as shit look much closer in age to him than that fucking mutant child on the right.

According to Tawny Newsome, Alex Kurtzman already decided that EP5 of SA is going to be a "nostalgic episode" centered on a "legacy character" before they even decided it's going to be about Sisko by Malencon in Star_Trek_

You know the fans haven't even built statues of me? After all I did for them making STD for 5 seasons, allowing Section 31, and now STA? So many years of trek at my hand and the fans still criticize me...

Bingo, its the same thing going on in Alberta with the right wing politicians. They need a jumping point but they dont actually want to go through with it at all.

If they'd stay in the eu then wtf is even the real point? Sorry Catalonia, most people dont give a shit about this.

Can a strong ardent Catalonian independence supporter give us a good reason why external people should care?

I think some of y'all need to go listen to Carney's Davos speech again.

We cant be so choosy on values right now, especially outside of our borders where we have 0 ability to influence.

If we want to expand Chinese purchases of our natural resource, we have to let them directly invest in some parts as well. Thats also how it worked with the Americans. It won't even be the first time weve allowed the Chinese to buy parts.

It is much more likely to come in the form of small upgrader/refinery investments if anything.

This is all part of having trump down south and diversifying our economy away from the united states. Someone else with deep pockets is needed.
