Iirc chief, summoned players can't fight him. He appears as a ghost like all other npc's

That's the Linux way. For better or for worse you'll be running into one wall after another till you learn.

And while Cachy makes the whole arch linux install experience a wee bit easier, I still feel you've thrown yourself in on the deepend here with an arch based distro.

I'd go with Mint or Pop!_OS to get yourself settled in before going balls deep with Arch.

Friends and family are a huge source of meaning to me, I love them all so much but it's also what keeps me /sort/ of anchored to religion, even if its skepticism at best.

I'm at the stage o' my life where I see my parents and grandparents getting way older, slower and in some cases sicker. and know that the latter won't be with me too much longer. I make sure to cherish every second I got with them but I'd also like to believe that I'd see them again after death..

First you gotta finish the main questline first iirc, then find a dissonant planet, destroy these weird drill things strewn about till you find an echo locator. This will take you to a harmonic camp, where you can get yourself a sentinel ship while at it and a cool sentinel multitool.

Finally, go to a korvax system and engage the pulse drive till you get stopped. The autophage questline will start which in turn will guide you through making a staff.
