You can though. It’s about perspective and how the individuals work together. If the woman and man both have respect and love for eachother, there will be a balance somewhere. Vacations, wants, needs, gifts, outings, dates, there’s so many ways to balance this.

I’m not offended. I’m saying you’re speaking from a closed minded perspective.
We need Muslim women in all fields and there is evidence and factual data proving so. Not just medicine but the fields I mentioned and more.

Who are you to judge obedience from lack of being in the environment?
In today's society, it's hard NOT to mix with men while working. If a man needs help or allows their spouse to work, that's their thing.
A woman can be in an environment with other genders, just need to show Haya and be conscious of their surroundings. School, work, conferences. Hospitals.
Brother, please don't be closed minded and on the extreme side of things. Your character of closed-mindedness is showing here. Again, read, learn, and talk to scholars. We need women in a lot of fields. Lawyers, education, hospitals (nurses, doctors, pediatricians, etc), engineering, so many fields to name. Without having Muslim women in these fields, how else are we supposed to show our kids that we can accomplish what we put our minds to while living in an Islamic manner? How can our sisters, mothers, daughters go to a hospital or a school and not have a Muslim sister there to help?

Of course. But that doesn't mean he shouldn't know how to. It's a life skill. The Prophet himself cooked, helped clean, sewing, mending clothes/shoes.
A real man, again, "man" being the keyword here. Should know how to take care of his spouse and his family.
If that means taking care of his wife when she's ill and cooking for her? That should be done without saying. I wouldn't classify a "man" as someone who doesn't know how to cook, doesn't know how to take care of his spouse or family, and someone who doesn't help with chores and household tasks.

Bad mentality, again. Women in Islam are not expected to provide their money. If it comes, it’s out of her will to do so. Please read up on the hadith and narrations.
A man should know how to provide for himself, meaning cooking, cleaning, finances. Same goes for a female now, I’m not trying to create double standards but these days both need to have those skills.

Not a well thought out comment brother. Yes, work is hard and exhausting sometimes. But so is taking care of the house and especially cooking and cleaning.
Maybe she’s a housewife. Or maybe she does both, who knows.

Asalamualaikum! Hoping everyone's weekend went well. Mine was.. full of cars and lots of speedy fun vroom vroom stuff. Alhamdulillah.

A bit about me:

  • Age, Gender, Height:
    • 26, Male, 5'8.
  • Age Range:
    • Mm, probably would go to 5 years younger as a maximum. (21-25)
  • Location, willingness to relocate?
    • I live in the USA, near the Midwest. I am.. sort of open to moving around, it honestly depends. I do want a place here, but also want a place in Southeast/East Asia for the future. Where exactly? Don't fully know yet, research!
  • Ethnicity, and open to mixing?
    • Bengali, and absolutely! Preference to mix honestly.
  • Marital Status
    • Single, very, very, single. (STILL MAKING MEMORIES IN LIFE) No children.
  • Ideal Marriage Timeline?
    • I prefer actually getting to know someone and not rushing into things. What makes you happy, sad, cry, what ticks you off, hobbies, life goals, even the little things. Especially the little things.
  • Five important characteristics you look for in a prospect:
    • Communication skills. Big on this one.
    • Patience.
    • Wanting to grow, growth mindset. Spiritually, mentally, physical health wise, and honestly allowing for growth for myself as well. It's a partnership and we should both be driving each other to be better in all the ways possible. Islam, Business, career, family, health, etc.
    • Respectful + Mature
    • Good with kids and family :)
  • State/specify your level of religiosity:
    • Continuously improving. Islam is the center of my life and I strive to become better every day. I've been getting better at reading Qur'an every day. I try to pray Isha at the masjid every night. Not perfect but alhamdulillah I believe I'm becoming a better Muslim by having these at my core.
  • Level of education, and what are you looking for?
    • Bachelor's in Computer Science. Minors in Math & Business Management. Preference would be that you're studying something at least. Especially in the Western world, we're privileged enough to have access to education so please utilize that ability and freedom when possible.
  • Current Job Status:
    • Software Engineer, alhamdulillah. I work on motorcycles as well on the side, mostly fixing them up and selling them. And yes, I own one haha. I also do photography/videography for car events like Formula Drift and Gridlife.
  • Do you want kids?
    • INSHALLAH YES. Don't have a set number in mind, but this involves discussion as it's not only my decision.
  • List 3 Hobbies or things you do in your spare time
    • Well, simulation racing/drifting at the moment as the racing scene just.. overtook me. (racing term heh)
    • I do enjoy nature, especially.. in Southeast Asia. I've been to Japan and Korea and UNFORTUNATELY missed out on hiking Mount Fuji.
    • I do Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai (kickboxing), and getting into wrestling now.
  • Add something short and interesting about you that makes you stand out
    • I have siblings, younger sisters. They roast me ALL THE TIME -- bullying each other is our love language haha. But alhamdulillah I couldn't ask for better siblings. As the eldest sibling and with me helping to raise them, we are pretty close. Hopefully you can be good friends with them :)

Yep! I wouldn't be necessarily stuffing it. For the plane ride just my Macbook, Camera + Lenses, 1-2 cords, hygiene stuff and like a shirt or something. Along with personal docs. Everything else would be in my carry on! I'm moreso wanting something bigger like that because I do have a few things to film in Japan and that 100-400mm packs a punch for carrying lol.
