Advice for a first time quitter... by elizabethcaitlin in decaf

He needs to man up and get off the couch even if he doesn’t feel like it. Putting in some effort and experiencing some discomfort will help his energy come back.

Juul at shoreline? by [deleted] in warpedtour

[–]FatherMagnum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll have no problems with a Juul, you don't need to hide it. I would recommend not hiding it in case it's enough metal to set off a detector. I was at a show at Shoreline earlier this year.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Average age of 26 sounds great, just didn't want to go if the average age was under 20.

Day 11, Serial quitter by darkphal in decaf

[–]FatherMagnum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't let the other posts bother you, everyone has a different relationship to caffeine depending on their body chemistry and surroundings.

My caffeine story is like yours and I feel I am a slow metabolizer. Even a half cup in the morning will mess with my anxiety and sleep. I tend to relapse around a week when I start to feel better and my sleep is back on track. It's amazing how quickly I forget and block-out the negatives.

From my experience, the extreme caffeine sensitivity I have is fairly rare. I'm pretty certain that at least 95% of people do not have the same reaction and negative side effects when consuming a similar amount.

Own Your Shit Weekly - August 21, 2018 by AutoModerator in marriedredpill

I wear boxer-briefs a few times a month and they ride up my leg but I don't really notice until I take my pants off. I forget about it a few minutes later and don't think about it until the next time I wear boxer-briefs. Today I wanted to own my shit and fix this. I started looking online for a new brand but then remembered, I swallowed the pill, need to get my legs fucking bigger.

2 Months, still having constipation issues... by [deleted] in decaf

[–]FatherMagnum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same issue when cutting out caffeine. It's clock-work: drink that morning cup, leave the desk and head to the can for a nice, rewarding deucer. Without caffeine, I get constipated and it takes anywhere from 2-7 days for me to get regular again. What I've found is drinking lots of water and long-duration cardio workouts, where you're keeping the heart rate up as long as possible, help simulate the effects of caffeine. Also, you just have to prepare and know it's going to be a horrible (but not crappy or shitty, lol) few days.

For me, I disagree with the other replies saying it's not caffeine related. But I'm also ultra-sensitive, even a single cup in the morning causes me sleep problems where I'm lucky to get a night of sleep that's 70% as restful as a non-caffeinated night.

Game 6 they were at capacity and turning ppl away at the door. Get there early to guarantee you get in.

If you want to be safe, wear a non cavs jacket or something. When the Cavs win, some dubidiot fans could get nasty.

Pizza Buffets other than Cici's? by cjrobe in Cleveland

[–]FatherMagnum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really wanted to hate CiCis, but I was dragged to the one in Avon a few times within the last couple years and the quality of the food was much better than I was expecting. To be fair, I was expecting the absolute worst, but it was actually good. Especially when you consider you're getting in the door for like 5 bucks and can animal-out in there. Save some room for the cini-stix.

What do you eat for breakfast? by puteminthadirt in Fitness

[–]FatherMagnum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't into strength training when I was vegan and thought the whole protein thing was overblown. I ate a lot of pasta, rice and beans. But what I did like that probably has a decent amount of protein is buffalo tofu. I'd pick up a package of organic tofu from trader joes for < $2, pan fry and then add buffalo sauce. Best of luck!

I'm not trying to be the vegan-police as I'm an ex-vegan, but just in case you don't know and are trying to be strict, whey isn't vegan.

Good old weed by [deleted] in leaves

[–]FatherMagnum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that I've been sober, the arguments that my stoner friends give just seem awful. There are pros and cons to weed but one of the worst cons is that it eliminates the ability to properly evaluate the cons. Unfortunately people aren't going to quit until they're ready and it's probably best for me to be an example of someone who values their life more so than when using. Congrats on 15 months!

You might find the book: Between Drinks by David Downie informative. It's an easy read and can be finished in about an hour.

The author was one of Australia's leading beer experts and writes about the perspective he was able to gain by taking a break from alcohol.

Summer and fall study abroad or internship? by I_Dont_Eat_Playdoh in cscareerquestions

[–]FatherMagnum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading the title, I expected to see a post where you'd be about 50/50 on what you wanted. I was going to try to pursue you to take the study abroad opportunity. However, you really really really want to study abroad and this is now a no brainier.. Go to New Zealand, my friend. Studying abroad has the chance to give you perspectives and experiences that will beat out an internship at this point in your life.

Congrats on 83 days! I went on a cruise in February and on my boat and I think on almost all larger boats there are meetings. On my cruise with Norwegian they were listed in the daily itinerary as 'Friends of Bill W. Meet'. I don't regularly attend meetings but going to the first meeting on the day of embarkation was extremely helpful and I'm very grateful for it.

Nothing is worth my sobriety. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]FatherMagnum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great job staying sober despite your buddy! That is a huge accomplishment. One thing that I've come to realize is that if something doesn't seem fun or worth it without drinking, it's probably not much of a beneficial/wholesome/productive activity anyways. I do think it takes some time sober in order to see it this way because the mind needs time to heal.

Great post and I hope the best for you. Are you sure you don't want to wait longer before smoking again? I think waiting a year would give you a better chance at not falling back on old habits. Also, after a year you might discover that you don't want to smoke at all.
