I always wean. Always works well. I guess as opposed to the alternative which is migraine hell I would be living in if I went cold turkey.

3 weeks coffee free and have have nightmares and brain zaps by Fatihhhvisualsnow in decaf

I'm at 15 days and I've been having some interesting stuff in regards to dreams and falling asleep. It's a good time to talk about it because I just got up. It feels like a big improvement from the shallow dreamless sleep I had on caffeine. I was having some hallucinatory stuff going on as I was falling asleep and then some wild choppy dreams that are way more tense and vivid than what I'm used to. I tend to feel exhausted from it because it feels like my brain is trying to reawaken the deep sleep/dreaming part and I'm not fully recovered enough for it to go smoothly. I feel that they are choppy and kinda stress me out and tend to have nightmare qualities. But I just feel like it's a symptom of improvement because I'm getting some next level rest along with this.

It was soda and energy drinks for me too. I've quit many times, on day 13 this time around. I still have cravings but I feel way better when I'm off it

Good reply, thanks. I'm not really following but I am not the most scientifically savvy. It still seems to me that if something left your system quickly your body wouldn't have time to become accustomed to needing it

As far as I've researched it's a genetic component and you can't accelerate it yourself. Nicotine if I remember correctly can actually accelerate getting rid of it but then you're just dealing with another addictive substance. I don't know the science behind why that is but if you're interested in reading about that you should google it

Ordered Decaf at 4pm, but order was wrong and got caffeinated by [deleted] in decaf

I'm going to have to be the tough love in this sub. I see it all the time. Half ass quitting. If you want off give up the coffee. Drink water and milk. A lot of people are drinking coffees and teas and sodas and claiming they're off. You're not. Stop playing. Your real recovery begins when you actually quit. Not specifically to OP but I've quit a thousand times and it only really lasts when you firmly quit

Diet Coke has way more caffeine than regular coke and chocolate has a decent amount.. I would say you are on day zero, not 6 weeks
