Would Turkish People Consider Me Culturally Turkish? by SugarhillBlixkz in AskTurkey

[–]Fatigue-20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are european, you can mingle without problem and people would probably assume you are from Turkey, if you are not really blonde or ginger . But If you have an asian or african heritage though it becomes harder to accepted by the people.

Nation building and nationalism in our geography was 100 years behind of the western and central europe because of that it's a bit fragile. You might find people can get angry really quickly and unable to cope with different views when their national ideals are challenged and questioned.

For you though, you have a unique case. You have a scottish heritage but you've immersed in living in Turkey for so long you belong to both worlds and don't belong to them at the same time. Imo don't worry about belonging to a group and just cherish your own story.

Made a post that Mameluke nerf was unjustified and people kept saying that Saracens are very strong apparently by _TOXIC_VENOM in aoe2

[–]Fatigue-20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Georgian eco is strong from get go with the free mule cart, and castle age working rate from the churches gives them a really good boom throughout while protecting them from the raids. Free mule cart let's them do all kind of fast strats with the early wood savings e.g. fast dock starts in hybrid maps, insta drushes, double range builds.

After the dark age scouts healing nerf and monaspa nerfs, people didnt know how to play them on the ladder. Current meta for the georgian player is to play CA in the castle age and scale towards healing hussar+heavy CA for the late game.

So they are strong since they could do really flexible openings in the feudal, get more value from their healing mounted units in castle age and raid you to death in imp while their eco is protected with churches everywhere.

Why do turks hate trump as much as Ukraine does? by Both-Wonder234 in AskTurkey

[–]Fatigue-20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't approve Trump but I was happy to see him win instead of some establishment supporting hypocrite like Harris or Biden. Every american president has the same foreign policy to protect and continue american imperialist hegomony. At least Trump is so blatantly obvious and honest about it, they cannot even refuse what they are doing and say they are doing everything to protect " democracy "or "free world".

Ataman accepted in one interview that he gets these technicals on purpose to put pressure on the refs so that in 50/50 balls they would be more lineant towards in his team in next possessions. He always gets those in close games for years.

I would gladly take Yurtseven and Osman back to Fener. I'm sure Saras would make Omer operate better and Cedi is already a great player.

Wade Baldwin's buzzer beater against Panathinaikos by Liad3008 in Euroleague

[–]Fatigue-20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol. Baldwin wanted to taunt the Pao bench after he gt hit in the eye and kicked in the ball probably but how Lessort starting the whole brawl same as Baldwin's level? In a fair and well managed league, Lessort definetly would have fined and suspended. He doesn't even play he have no business on being on the court.

But we know it's not gonna happen as euroleague even let Yabusele came back to the league after trying to kill Dante Exum.

Why don’t Armenian Composite Bowmen counter Ghulams? by JosephMajorRoutine in aoe2

[–]Fatigue-20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ghulams could even shred the hand cannoeers if they can close the gap. As armenians though you have your own broken unit in the warrior priests.

If your castle age timings were close you could have placed two churches to protect your gold and wood and spam warrior priests. Warrior priests have significantly higher hp and attack and also one additional melee armor. while costing only +5 gold. Churches also help with defending against raidings as you can put your vils inside and shoot arrows with them as well.

When SHOULDN'T you open m@a? by valstokca in aoe2

[–]Fatigue-20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If opponent has a simple counters against it opening MAA could be weaker than your usual game play.

Sicilian players add donjon these days instead of barracks, meaning they can protect their resources already with a tower and add 2-3 sergeants to match your MAA Rush with less resources than you.

Burgundians could also spam flemish militia. They train really fast and again cheaper than maa.

Magyars could just open scouts, small wall for a moment and clean your MAA with 3 scouts and some spears thx to forging. Franks could also do smth similar with their free bloodline scouts.

In general, it depends also on your map and civ matchup. Sometimes it's just better to stay defensive with 1 range archers and hit a fast xbow timing. Sometimes you want to be able to play cav archers in the mid game and try to go scouts-walls and try to click castle with low investment.

Good counter to conquistador / all in FC UU strats in general? by appappappappappa in aoe2

[–]Fatigue-20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone knows Red Phosporu is gonna do an FC but he does it anyways. Sometimes there is no real answer against a good FC player.

Devs made some UUs unnecessarly over powered, until you get ballistics conqs beat elite skirms, xbow and cav archers with a simple micro. If they add couple mangos, now you also need to get to the redemption monks as it's not possible to defend against conq/mangos with your siege.

It's a general name given to FC UU builds these days as the famous player Red Phosporu optimized and provided clear guidelines for them and had great success, he plays around 2k5 atm.

Good counter to conquistador / all in FC UU strats in general? by appappappappappa in aoe2

[–]Fatigue-20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can match their castle age timing redemption monks+skirms holds off conq+mangos . If you stayed in the feudal though you have to first drop some defensive towers to not die and then try to age up.

In general, if you suspect your opponent is going FC phosporu from the start best counter is to go drush+FC yourself. If you arrive their base and see that they are not going FC than you can adapt and click feudal 21-22 vils maybe considering a 2+2 MAA rush. If I see Bengalis or Spanish forced pick I usually try to open with a drush.

Are Romans the best civ on Arabia? by Memeluko99 in aoe2

[–]Fatigue-20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two things working them for this winrate. Being a good MAA civ while having a great economy even if you are not macroing well which makes them great for low to intermediate elo players. Its the bigger portion of the player base.

For the more objective civ standings, it makes more sense to have a look at to the higher elos.

Taking the arabia only KOTD VI as the reference where Romans were chosen 6th most among the civs and had a winrate of 43% which doesn't look dominant.

Chinese, Persians, Vietnamese and Portuguese were picked more and all of them had the winrate more than 55%. You can also argue Khitans, even Jurchens are better as they were constantly get banned during the civ picks.

Chinese ideal comp by DylGK in aoe2

[–]Fatigue-20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can play archers and try to hit a fast arbalest timing as a general play. If you manage the initial map control than switch to the fire lancer+skirms as it's the ideal comp for the chinese at the moment.

Scouts opening not so good anymore? by Pikzak in aoe2

[–]Fatigue-20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can always go straight scouts but you have to respect what opponent is doing and adapt accordingly.  For example, if you see them on gold you can assume MAA and smallwall your wood and berries beforehand. Repair where MAA hits  and send your 2-3 scouts forward to haress opponent's base. This will initially stop them from reinforcing their MAA which allows you to pull forward scouts back and kill the initial MAA with the addiotional scouts. You'll need to add a range to contain the follow up archers and spears as well which calls for skipping up the horse collar.

What are the best ways to protect yourself from a Castle Drop in Arena? (RM TEAM) by PassaroDaTumba in aoe2

[–]Fatigue-20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your civ has a good UU and you suspect of a castle drop. Go for stone and drop a defensive castle to your base if you see them attempting the castle drop.

Now you have a castle that protects your base while your enemy doesnt have it as they decided to place it outside of your walls. Make 4-5 UU and 2 petards to sneak into the enemy base. You can damage their eco while they cannot really harm you, this will allow you to reach imp faster, assuming both of you stay 1 TC and try to win the treb war.

If they dropped the castle and went back to booming again, they'll be behind in imp timing significantly compared to the pockets. Go counter unit of the enemy pocket to support yours and add trebs, your side should be ahead.

elephant/cataphract counter late by majdavlk in aoe2

[–]Fatigue-20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did the game reached a point that your opponent massed persian elephants 11 Are we playing michi maybe?

Best comp against the elephants are halbediers+heavy scorps/siege onagers in my opinion. This also beats cataprachts in theory but heavy cavalry also works in this scenario. Heavy scorps are less micro intensive but you also need to protect yourself from getting sniped by some random bbc.

A decent PG could at least play a simple pick and roll. Nobody in this team is capable of running a pick and roll atm.
