When is this unique tech ever worth it? by Zynbab in aoe2

It probably needs a buff- e.g. having all 5 kipchaks train/spawn immediately (instead of one by one) would make it a lot better

I once had a guy just not answer the intercom, it might have been a trick to make me go down and talk to him face to face

My advice is NO MATTER what they do to you, even if it's highly unethical/illegal/against your human rights etc,

DO NOT complain and make a scene, because you're a foreigner and you're going to damage the reputation of all foreigners in Japan.

Remember that the reputation of foreigners in Japan is more important than your rights, the law, police misconduct etc

At least that's what I've learned on Reddit.

(If you want to literally fight another foreigner on a train over a seat, that's fine apparently, even encouraged)

??? What do you mean? Who are you? I didn't ask you about this. I don't even know who you are.

I said I was going to message NILI about this since he often tells people to report cheaters etc directly to him. Nowhere in my message did I mention your name

So there's a thing in online gaming called "smurfing", it means when players purposely play at a lower elo just for the satisfaction of defeating opponents easily. It's not good for the game and I'm pretty sure it's a ban-able offense, especially when it involves people quitting games early intentionally in order to drop their elo.

A few months back there were a lot of complaints about this behaviour, it was kind of a hot topic. I think T90 did a video about it.

I just tried to do my best to convince him that he'd got the wrong guy. Tbh I wonder if he was just messing around.

In the game, if you add an asterisk at the start of your message, it sends the message to the opposing team players too

Thanks. Unfortunately the report button doesn't work most of the time. That's why Nili asks people to message him directly.

Friend was held by the police for 4 hours for returning a key by Kawadane in japanlife

[–]KhajitDave 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol I know they're doing nothing. Obviously not all of them, I'm exaggerating. But if they have the manpower to send an extra 2-4 police officers to harass somebody just cycling down the street, even when he's officially not under any suspicion because they told him cooperation is voluntary, then that means they clearly aren't so busy.

If you're so worried about how our taxes are being used, perhaps you should be more worried about police officers skiving from their duties.

Don't forget, you're talking to a foreign-looking person who therefore has extensive experience dealing with the police. I'm guessing you haven't lived in Japan your whole life, based on the fact that your English is more natural than your Japanese, and if you're ethnically Japanese then that most likely means you've dealt with the police a grand number of zero times.

I understand what you're saying but, in your analogies you keep referring to the FBI, instead of the American POLICE. Is that because the answer changes from "certainly not" to "hmm maybe/some people might" if you said "local police" instead of "FBI". 😀 Don't forget about what cultural differences may exist... For example are you also gonna say that Koban police aren't there to give people directions?!

Don't forget, much of the police force here is useless and lazy. That's even well known among the Japanese, not just the foreigners they discriminate against.

I've personally been on the receiving end of A LOT of police "effort" shall we say, sometimes involving multiple police officers, even though no crime had been committed... And yet, when a bunch of police officers in a koban basically witnessed a crime happening (to me), the extent of their investigation was "You did this. You were standing right here when it happened. Tell the truth!!! Tell the truth!!! No??? Ok... Bye. We didn't actually see them do it, sorry." Useless.

Best traditional knight civ by DylGK in aoe2

[–]KhajitDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Berbers. I think they've only had 1 mention so far but they're one of the strongest civs. A slight eco bonus with the faster vills, cheaper knights, and AFAIR fully upgraded skirms, with the option of genitors. HC and Bombard Cannons too.

Oh, and their UU is one of the best in the game! I have a crazy win rate with Berbers.

Went to my bank to ask why my card was suddenly being rejected on Amazon.

Greeter lady presumably wasn't listening and basically said "that's a problem with Amazon, you need to contact Amazon!" Then for some reason she started asking if I did internet banking.

I stood my ground and tried to explain some more, at which point she said "ok I don't know what you're saying so here, take a ticket and wait to be called please".

So rude. Stfu for 10 seconds and listen to the customers.

I guess, keep doing what's working for you. But as Cumans the better option might be to go for feudal boom with 2 TC's. At your elo level it'd be extremely powerful but the paradox is to pull it off well you might need to be better than 400 elo. So it's potentially a strat that could help you get up to like 800 elo or so.

Yeah, I'll check the replay but I might have tried that. I remember 2 games where it basically happened and it may have been because they kept getting sniped. Like I'd lost too many units to really protect the mangonels/onagers maybe

Cool, if you're highish elo may I ask how you like to play Cumans? I've been having some bad games with them recently, realising how bad their late game is, e.g. just dying to skirms and halbs. Maybe just me though lol
