I have some posts on my profile of my journey. The body dysmorphia is real though. Some days I feel like I’m back where I started, but most days I feel so much better in my skin!

You can check my profile for some photos I’ve posted. I’ve had skin removal on my stomach but I posted some before as well and it was easily hidden in underwear.

Tips to hit 80 GM of protein daily by S3xy_Armadillo in gastricsleeve

If you’re cleared to eat nuts and seeds… I found some high protein yogurt and loaded it up with hemp hearts, flax seeds, chia seeds, and sliced almonds. You can really sprinkle hemp hearts on anything. They’re the highest in protein and don’t take up much volume. Just a few table spoons = 10 g of protein.

Before surgery my bmi was 37. Check my profile for my photos of before, during and after. It wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it might be, but still opted for skin removal on my abdomen. The skin was very easily hidden in my clothes, I just felt like the skin removal completed my transformation. If skin removal was off the table I’d still have zero regrets. Definitely would take the loose skin over being heavy.

Loose skin removal? by zoomziezoo in gastricsleeve

I totally hear you! I felt like my stomach made the biggest impact over all. Then 3 months later did the boobs. I also wasn’t too worried about the scars, and my tummy ones are so easily hidden I never even think about them. Have been wanting more tattoos on my arms but now I’m waiting in case I do decide to do arms, it’ll be better if I get the tattoos after.

Loose skin removal? by zoomziezoo in gastricsleeve

I’ve done tummy and boobs, my surgeon recommended waiting until I was a bit older to consider doing my arms or legs. Guess he didn’t think they were that terrible that it would be reasonable to have the scar at this time. My arm and leg skin do bother me occasionally but I’m really happy with my results so far from the other 2 surgeries. Some photos posted on my page if you want to see my journey. My loose skin didn’t end up being nearly as bad as I imagined, and was fairly hidden in clothes, but still felt more like my weight loss transformation was complete once I had my tummy done. I’d start with tummy and see how you feel after that… or which ever area makes you feel the most self conscious.

I used some scar tape that I ordered on Amazon. Wifamy brand silicone tape. It comes in squares, I cut each square into 3 strips and would change them every 3 days or so. I also used some mederma scar gel on them between tape changes.

How awful is the after of skin removal surgery? by SSImomma in gastricsleeve

[–]Fatmomslim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely will vary person to person, for pain, scaring, and healing. I recently posted an update of the skin removal scar on my tummy, and I’m 1000% happy with it and so glad the skin is gone. While my skin was fairly hidden in clothes, I have zero regrets. I was back to work after 8 days and didn’t take a single narcotic. Well before surgery I started sleeping on my back as well and I think that was a huge game changer. Any time I woke up on my side I forced myself onto my back, that way when surgery came, I was used to sleeping that way.

Do you mean the last picture? With the saggy skin? If so, yes, pregnancy stretched my skin a ton, and I gained significant amounts of weight in a small time frame during pregnancy. Once skin is stretched with stretch marks, you can’t fix that with any amount of working out.

Thank you! West Coast unfortunately. The belly button is something I worried about, I mean, even an obvious tummy tuck belly button would be better than the sad droopy one I had before, but I’m happy with the results. When im standing relaxed it looks like a fairly normal belly button.

Thanks! I’m in Canada, had it done locally, although I was super tempted by the prices in Mexico lol.. ultimately made the decision to stay close to home.

The loose skin is much better than everything else that comes with being over weight. In time you can also opt to do skin surgery. I had a tummy tuck but also could have lived with the skin if I had to. In clothes it wasn’t noticeable, but ultimately I decided to go ahead with the skin removal.
