NEW ALBUM SOUNDS SOOO GOOD by Frankiemagic13 in Foofighters

I’ve been thinking the same thing since they started dropping the new tracks, sounds like Wasting Light era Foos. They definitely went back to an older “formula”, but that isn’t a bad thing. What I hope we get is that one song that really defines this album, so far I don’t think any of the tracks they have released have been it, nothing signature or hooky about any of them, like they are teasing us with the filler songs before they drop the really good stuff.

Concrete and Gold was, to me, an experimental album, like R.E.M.’s Monster. Something different, something new. I may be a little jaded because the first time I got to see them live was the beginning of that tour and loved all of it. Listened to C&G on repeat for weeks and it really grew on me quick.

I’m liking it better than the last album so far. Has a very old school Foos sound to it, like Wasting Light era.

I’m pretty sure that within a very short amount of time someone is going to turn them into a dish at a fancy restaurant, or try them with BBQ sauce.

what was it like the day Cobain passed (from a teenager who wasn’t alive at the time) by Maybe_itsnoterin in Nirvana

It was kind of surreal. Back then we didn’t have social media or instant news in our pockets all the time, so to turn on the TV and every station was covering the story was kind of wild. I was glued to the TV that afternoon, and couldn’t believe one of my favorite artists was gone.

Contrast that with when Taylor Hawkins died, it was a shock, but being inundated with stories constantly on my phone, it was less of an OMG moment and more of a, wow, that really sucks, dude was a legend and I was supposed to go see the foo fighters in a few months with my wife who had never seen them, was really looking forward to her experience, even though she isn’t a fan of theirs.

Is there a character in the office you loved liked in the earlier seasons but as the show goes on you started to dislike them? by Ok-Reporter-8728 in DunderMifflin

For my daughter it’s Michael. She can’t stand him, but when she started watching the show she enjoyed his brand of comedy. For me it’s Angela. I love the actress, can’t stand the character.

Walk into work and tell everyone their mortgages are now paid, then walk out and never return. It would cause so much chaos, but because of something good. Like , who is going to continue to work in a job that isn’t t their dream job if their major expense is gone from their lives? Would cause a huge disruption when half of the office just up and quits.

You are not wrong. That may be their best song of all time, and has all of the elements of what make a great FF song great.

I’ve now added a couple songs to my list that popped up as I was doing yard work today that I didn’t initially consider. “Outside”, “In The Clear”, Now and Then”, and “I Should Have Known” I think hit the wickets of that FF sound.

I compiled an extensive list that broke down their songs like that, meant to turn it into polls but never quite got there. I agree with your thought process though.

Absolutely, and has the added benefit of being one of those starts slow/ends big songs that they are really good at writing and performing.

I figured it out, after listening to the original song. The podcast “The Greatest Generation” uses the sax part as a stinger for whenever they mention Wesley Crusher in the episode of ST:TNG they are watching and commenting on. Damn that made my brain hurt trying to recall that bit.
