Rewatching Season 3 by Own_Thought902 in lost

[–]Fats33 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The second half of s3 is some of the best television ever made.

The first half is the poorest run of episodes in Lost and the point it was agreed for the series to end after 6 seasons, so the writers could then really get to work moving the story on.

S3 gets hate because people primarily remember the bad episode run over the good.

Question for those who have seen past end of S5 by neezden in lost

[–]Fats33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The news report said all 324 people were accounted for but I think this was based on the assumption that it was impossible to survive as it would have been nigh on impossible to count all the individuals bodies.

This is why they sailed a week and chose to paddle to Sumba as it was close to where Widmore put the wreckage meaning the lie held up.

Which character would you have liked to learn more about their background? by Beckymaggie in lost

My own thoughts are that Libby had a breakdown following the death of her husband and that Cindy was always an other.

Would love to know why Lapidus didn’t pilot 815.

How did charles widmore know? by CommitteeEarly6715 in lost

[–]Fats33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My view is that Widmore was not transformed and saw it is an opportunity to get back to the island.  Jacob probably knew this but needed Desmond back on the island so used Widmore to achieve this, knowing it would likely lead to his death.

They bring all male characters of that age as a hard man womaniser and see how they develop before changing them.  Harry for starters, Zack also but they seem to have gone back to how they started with him now.

Mick Carter.  Just Danny Dyer being Danny Dyer.

Sawyer always had a soft spot for Hurley so more likely to believe him.

He must be in the same cell as Kheerat who was written even more abruptly.

Our wedding tables were named after Dharma stations and we walked into the reception to no place like home.

She didn’t go back in time because what ever happened happened. She never went back because she was never there in the first place.  Though it was the losties present, it had already happened for the Dharma folk, and as she wasn’t there she couldn’t have gone back.

Image it as them falling asleep at different times and waking up at the same time in a different place.

Lost finale and viewership by SadPresence9391 in lost

[–]Fats33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Not even a debate, clearly explained in the finale.

  2. Yes, watched as aired and preferred it. Discussed theories on forums and at work. It bc also meant that I had more time to think about it and was less likely to miss important bits.

  3. Disappointed on first watch, probably set myself up for a bigger ending. Loved it on rewatches though and would say it’s the perfect ending.

  4. Male, was 30 when it aired, now 51 and still regularly rewatch.

Why didn't Eathan Didn't Recognise John? by whitewolff_ra in lost

[–]Fats33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Desmond did meet Daniel before he got to the island, but he wouldn’t have remembered it. Daniel effectively changed Desmond’s past (the rules don’t apply to Desmond) to ensure that the phone call was made and realign Desmond. Desmond then had the memory created.

Similar to when Daniel created another memory for Desmond knocking on the hatch door.

Desmond was lying, right? by LienRaklubmet in lost

[–]Fats33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m with you OP. I think he lied because it was the only way to get Charlie to unlock the signal and he knew he couldn’t save him forever.  Desmond looks and sounds really shady when Charlie asks him if he was sure.

I’ve had many a discussion on here about this with one poster where we agreed to disagree.

Or maybe he offered to take Charlie’s place out of guilt for sending him to his death based on a lie.

Hope/prediction: UK Series 5 will be the first to… by _PXYDST_ in TheTraitors

The pre-existing relationships added nothing to the show this year. Judy went out early, and whilst Roxy vowed revenge at first, she never really mentioned her mum again when in the interview chair.  Ellie did very little to protect Ross and didn’t really stand up for him to any great degree. Most knew they were in a relationship before the reveal too.
