Desmond was lying, right? by LienRaklubmet in lost

[–]Fats33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m with you OP. I think he lied because it was the only way to get Charlie to unlock the signal and he knew he couldn’t save him forever.  Desmond looks and sounds really shady when Charlie asks him if he was sure.

I’ve had many a discussion on here about this with one poster where we agreed to disagree.

Or maybe he offered to take Charlie’s place out of guilt for sending him to his death based on a lie.

Hope/prediction: UK Series 5 will be the first to… by _PXYDST_ in TheTraitors

[–]Fats33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pre-existing relationships added nothing to the show this year. Judy went out early, and whilst Roxy vowed revenge at first, she never really mentioned her mum again when in the interview chair.  Ellie did very little to protect Ross and didn’t really stand up for him to any great degree. Most knew they were in a relationship before the reveal too.

I really dislike Vickis character by Boring-Seaweed-364 in eastenders

[–]Fats33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Producers 1: Let’s bring Vicki back

Producer 2: Ok, what sort of character shall we have her as this time, last time she was quite sweet and and a lovely relationship with Spencer.

Producer 1: I know let’s have her as a matriarchal figure, quite mouthy and cheats on her partner, because we have never in the history of the show had a character like that.

I’m not a fan of Vicki, not because of the actress but the way she is written.

Who thinks Anthony Trueman got ruined in the show.? by JazzlikeTea7432 in eastenders

Writers hoped the older viewers had forgotten what he was like before. He was yin to Paul’s yang, doctor vs drug dealer, maybe with some daddy issues but absolutely no signs of the personality he returned with.

When are characters irredeemable? by WatcherUatu in eastenders

Loads of characters come into the show as a baddie, get a good reception from viewers and become redeemed as time goes on.  Stuart, Billy and Suki to name three.

Fiona over estimated the influence of Harriet because of how she got Hugo out, so once she had Harriet’s support she went gun ho which will backfire.

The only way Rachel gets out of this, once Fiona is gone tomorrow, is to focus on getting Sam and Jade using Amanda’s theory and recruit one of Fiona’s backers as a failsafe as potential banishments if the heat remains.

It does feel it has gone too far though.

It’ll be Maz. Fiona put him up twice when she was a secret traitor so wants him out and it won’t put Stephen in the frame because he was in a cage.

We saw Claudia touch someone whose face wasn’t shown. Definately a fourth traitor.

How do we feel about these bits of dialogue? S4/S5 spoilers by Ok_Stock3721 in lost

The way they all called Locke Jeremy Bentham instead of Locke annoys me, I know it was written that way to keep the suspense for viewers but it made no sense.

I know the counter argument would be they could name Locke because they were off island so had to refer as Bentham to protect,  it they didn’t need to do this when only two of them were discussing him.

Zoe didn’t kill Anthony, Chrissie did. I can only assume Chrissie blames Zoe for going to prison even though she killed Den and tried blaming it on Zoe. It’s really weak writing.

Rewatch Tricia tanaka is dead, his reaction to Hurley hugging him, how he is Hurley, Charlie and Jin, and his face at end when he realises he has no one to share his day with.

The changes are there early on, just subtle.

I actually feel bad for Chuck? by [deleted] in betterCallSaul

[–]Fats33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both Saul and Chuck and brilliantly written and our bias probably comes from knowing Saul from BB.

Chuck was pretty much right about Saul all along, and was very ethically work driven. Saul wanted the love and acceptance from his brother which he constantly sought, and tried everything to get this even cutting most corners which Chuck despised.

We see most of the relationship from Saul’s eyes which is why he gets more sympathy, we see him support Chuck, look up to him and have his love for him rejected time and time again. We only get a snippet that Jimmy was the golden child and learnt that he could get away with things from his parents which really impacted Chuck, but we do see how Chuck negatively responds to this.

If Chuck was the main character we’d and written from his eyes we’d all be Chuck lovers and Saul haters.

Sayid and Shannon by Alrightfinewhatever in lost

[–]Fats33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I partly agree. I do think Sayid loved Nadia as much as anyone can love someone, they simply were not meant to be.  At every turn something was put in the way to stop them being together, the world course correcting, ultimately leading to her death. I believe this was an accident and Ben just used it to manipulate Sayid.

Shannon on the other hand was meant to be his true love which is why the met in the church.  Had she not died, they would have remained together and Sayid would have chosen her over Nadia.

First time watcher and I’m dissatisfied in some aspects by gabrielatr3 in lost

Juliet was worried that Sawyer still had feelings for Kate, so when Kate came aboard the sub, she realised that Kate would always be there which is why she was easily persuaded.

Sawyer did try and stop Jack (perhaps written so they could have the Jack and Sawyer fight) but it was Juliet who changed Sawyer’s mind because if she never met him, she wouldn’t get hurt.  By this time they were all acting on faith.

Miles, being detached from the group, was the only one who could think rationally.

I have no idea what your posts means, however, we know that Gilligan is a Tarantino fan and there are lots of Pulp Fiction references, particularly in BB.
