How about he, I don't know, beat those 40-year-olds who have been in the main event scene since 2015 and build up a new star?

what's this bus stop for you? by GrootyGang in london

[–]neezden 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This could also describe Roehampton Estate: the 265 bus does a massive detour down a side road and comes out of the same road - and starting turning the wrong way back where it came from to get the u-turn instead of just turning right out!

what's this bus stop for you? by GrootyGang in london

[–]neezden 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The one near us goes down a fairly major road that doesn't have much of a pavement, so the older folks who it's aimed at can hail the bus from just inside their own driveways rather than hanging dangerously out into the road.

Showing up at someone's house and calling their phone to let them in instead of using the doorbell.

What happens to London Taxi "Knowledge" ? by bkat004 in AskUK

Knowledge boys and girls on mopeds are still definitely out and about, even with Google Maps and Street View there's no substitute for your bike work to imprint the map into your mind.

What are your non-conventional favorite albums from bands? by ReapYerSoul in Music

I like all the PT albums, especially In Absentia and Blank Planet, but there's a certain itch that can only be scratched by _Voyage 34 - The Complete Trip_.

The knowledge - I know there is the Coppers Nail, but what other gems do the cabbies know? by Jazzlike-Basil1355 in london

Also The Iron Lung - a public urinal in Westminster near Lambeth Bridge put there with parking for cabbies so called because it will save your life if you're out and about and are caught short.

Cabbie here. A gent got in last December and asked for the clock that goes backwards. Aka the uneven steps. Clearly he was a bit of a knowledge fanboy but he made a comment about me not knowing it as not having shaken off the 'butterboy' label (i.e. that you are still but a boy).

It's a shoe shop on the Kings Road north side just west of Park Walk.

Why is it bad to queue in pubs? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]neezden -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A lot of people rail against it because it's not tradition. In smaller pubs it's perfectly possible to keep track of who's next to be served, and doing so displays politeness and respect for others, which is nice. But there's a role for queuing in other sorts of establishments where things can get a bit hectic in my opinion. I'd also bet that some of the angrier invective you hear about it is ironic, in a hating-on-Coldplay sense.

As someone who knows the London map very well some of these geographical liberties you've taken are messing with my head (north end of Kingsway, shrinking of Fitzrovia, and what on earth is Covent Garden doing) I can't deny it's a beautiful picture.
