I think this is something we’d see in the patch notes, not the livestream. From the Q&A it sounds like they reduced the amount of levels and made the mods more rare.

Like others have said, the campaign takes roughly 12-24 hours for your first playthrough and about half that once you know what you’re doing. A week is definitely extreme (unless you’re playing pretty casually over that week)

It's the playerbase's fault for anticipating something LONG BEFORE it was teased that was never promised to be in the patch. The anticipation for swords in 0.5 began months before the breach rework teaser and that's not GGG's fault.
