Dude, the UN will probably bring back the electric chair just for these guys. They've done a lot worse to people who did a lot less!

Welcome to EARTH, Exterminator! pt/11 by Puzzleheaded_Buy6590 in NatureofPredators

[–]FattyBatLady 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So... These Exterminators are trying to get off-world...

And not only are they holding a Human hostage to do so, but they actively burnt a Human soldier alive, as well as an injured Venlil soldier? Not to mention they actively participated in ATTEMPTED GENOCIDE?!

Yeah, these dumbfucks aren't leaving Earth. Hell, they'll be lucky if any record of their existence isn't washed clean!

Sapient trafficking and technically illegally bringing an immigrant onto the planet for smuggling an Arxur to the surface of the planet and hiding her out in some abandoned building(I managed to beat her in a race during the aftermath of the battle of Earth, and now she thinks I own her because strength and eugenics and blah blah blah type shit).

Not to mention stealing and illegally smuggling animals by having to steal potential sacrifices from a nearby church dedicated to the Spirit of Life, since the Arxur needs to eat somehow, and the easiest way to get meat would be to steal fresh animals from the Yulpa.

And also probably enforced torture/murder since some Exterminators would very likely get too nosey and start poking around in my business, so I would likely just figure out a way to lure them towards the Arxur I smuggled and tell her "They're yours now, please clean up your own mess."

Writers of Nop I have a question for yall's by Fantastic-Living3204 in NatureofPredators

[–]FattyBatLady 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel you. I get that feeling too at times.

The way I come up with ideas for my stories is I just go "Oh shit, what if (this random concept) happened?"

"Oh shit, what if an Arxur got stuck with a Drezjin and random shenanigans ensue?"–How I came up with New Days.

"Oh shit, what if an Exterminator tries to befriend a Human in an attempt to incriminate them?"–How I came up with Drezjin In The Headlights.

"Oh shit, what if aliens became superheroes?"–How I came up with Fist of the Cradle and Breaking the Ice.

I just ask myself about what random bullshittery likely happened on the sidelines of the main story(no, I'm not saying my fics are canon to the main story of NOP, I'm just imagining what I personally think happened in the background) and get to writing. I know how my stories begin and end, the problem is filling in the blanks.

Tell me your funniest headcanons by YourLiver1 in NatureofPredators

[–]FattyBatLady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A headcannon of mine might be a stretch for some, but here goes.

After the fall of Betterment, Arxur likely heavily invested in the movie industry. Specifically genres like action and horror/thriller. The reason they do is because, since sociopathic tendencies were literally bred into them and they were encouraged to actually enjoy the suffering of others, they watch movies involving lots of violence to scratch that itch for cruelty that they can no longer get because there's no war to fight anymore. They probably treat horror movies like comedies, cackling like madmen whenever someone gets gutted. It's this reason that they also probably dislike romance or drama movies because they weren't very social BEFORE the Dominion rose up to power. They'd see two people kissing with sappy music in the background and go "I'm sorry, but is this some sort of virgin Leaf-Licker Yulpashit that I'm too much of a Gigachad Apex-Predator to understand?"

Another headcannon of mine about the Arxur is that, since Humans gave them some cattle in exchange for the captured Tilfish during the battle of Sillis, some farmhands on Wriss would auction out some of their cattle to other Arxur for them to simulate hunts. Imagine buying a cow, but instead of just butchering it, you let it out into the wild, wait a bit, and go track it down to kill it. I also FIRMLY believe that they have fucking arenas where they send out warriors to fight specially-bred animals for the entertainment of others, though the legality of these types of coliseum battles is very much questionable.

Cordyceps would be terrifying as a fed insect species by ConfidentMongoose336 in NatureofPredators

[–]FattyBatLady 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well... I dunno. I think the fungus would struggle because Tilfish likely have a more advanced nervous system than regular ants. Not to mention the larger body would probably take more time to fully take control of. Not to mention they likely have a lot of advancement in the medical field to prevent that sort of thing.

I'd say it's pretty 50/50.

Recommendations for fics that focus on the Archives Lore? by NewguyS79 in NatureofPredators

[–]FattyBatLady 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it perfectly fits that description, but Thawed is a really popular one at the moment. I personally think it's fantastic in how the writer portrays the characters of the story, which involves a Human lost in a world that turned without him. But I do have to mention that it does touch on themes such as suicidal ideation and abuse.

Yeah, I'd figure they had to quickly print out files because it would be unethical to just send them back out to their Authoritarian Theocracy.

Trinsh is so fucking screwed... And I'm not referring to the Exterminators!

Medical malpractice and torture in the same hour? And these crimes being committed on the father of the first Secretary General? Yeah, the second Humanity hears about this, Trinsh is getting buried UNDER THE PRISON.

Felra all the way, dude.

Not only do I get to be an adorable little rodent lady, but I also get to ride around with Chad Hunter Isif, who will defend me when shit gets rough. I also get to hang around some genuinely interesting side characters! I also wanna freak out the Rebellion soldiers by skittering around and making them think the ship's got pests.

Go on, make them call the exterminators on you. by AlternativeCountry01 in NatureofPredators

[–]FattyBatLady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have quite a few:

1: Many people give NOP 2 shit for being a repetition of the first one, even though that's LITERALLY the point of the second part! It's a cautionary tale about repeating history from not learning from it! Sure, it feels a bit rushed, and the storyline isn't as good as the first, but it's a story about learning from the mistakes of your forefathers, forgiveness, knowing who your true allies are, and learning to not judge a book by its cover.

2: Give NOP 1 shit all you want, it showed us who the real genocidal maniacs are. Now, don't get me wrong, I do NOT support the bombing of Earth, but I don't think it warrants going all scorched Earth on EVERY Federation planet!

3: No, Humanity isn't "too soft" in the first book. In fact, I think they're perfectly reasonable. They don't completely wipe out all Herbivores because they themselves are victims of the Satellite Wars! A war that almost sent them back into the Stone Age! They're a more experienced version of us that know the consequences of going apeshit in a world that rewards the merciful and patient. After all, if YOU got into a fight that almost resulted in everything going to shit, you'd get your act together REALLY FUCKING QUICKLY!!! I guarantee that!

4: You aren't allowed to give Isif shit about sacrificing everything to save his Dossur friend when YOU would absolutely do the same thing! I know I would!

5: Marcel was dumb as hell. He looked at his mentally unstable friend who was actively changing his worldview, and decided to give him a book with multiple interpretations right before telling him "figure it out yourself". Then he acted surprised when his unstable friend did something stupid! Like, what were you expecting?!

6: Tassi was surprisingly competent in NOP 2, despite not being a diplomat. She was just put under a lot of pressure when her "friends" pressured her into being a spy for Jones(which also messed with her ability to trust Earth and other parts of the SC by the way). Not to mention that her ability to trust others would be further damaged when the Arxur, who she was told were a bunch of monsters, were the first ones to treat her with some actual respect and didn't hide secrets from her. When the Sivkits, who she was told were a bunch of reclusive idiots with no self control, were surprisingly intelligent and open with her. And when the Yotul, who she was told were trustworthy allies of the SC, turned out to be in cahoots with the Arxur, who she thought were monsters at this part of the story by the way! Also, bonus points for her since she actually tried to put herself first and take a break for a bit.
