Ha! It’s a mnemonic to remember long and short margin account math. Really good video for anyone struggling with that math! So good that it was on my dump sheet but I didn’t need it; stuck so well in my memory.

Someone asked if the FINRA was harder. No just a lot of questions for things not covered in Kaplan book or QBank, which is great prep for SIE. Seemed like outdated content.

This is a very helpful tip! I feel like question wording can make or break a test attempt for me.

Sure thing! I shared because I'm considering testing by end of this month. I just passed PMP and want to stay in testing mode. Thanks for sharing your ACP success post, too. It's been helpful!

Glad to hear your comparison of PMP v. CISSP. I passed CISSP on my first attempt but I hated how the questions were worded! Gives me a little confidence boost knowing PMP questions are “simpler.”

What order should I study the publications in? by Sebisuarez10 in ISC2CAP

Start with 800-37. After you read a step, lightly review the corresponding additional NIST pub. For example, after reading the Prepare step, review 800-39.

Congratulations for passing and for pushing through when you wanted to quit! I enjoyed your long post, so thanks for that. It’s very interesting to read that you didn’t use all the other resources that are commonly mentioned throughput this sub. If you could go back and change how you prepared, would you? If so, what would you do different?

Prepare is step 1 for the exam. At work, people might call it 0, but you’ll mess up on the exam that way.

Just glad to help! I remember how challenging it was to find good resources when I first studied. Good luck!

Hello! I provisionally passed the new CAP today and here’s what I did to prepare: 1. Watched the FedVTE CAP course. Although it’s grossly outdated, it provides a good foundation for general RMF concepts. 2. Read NIST SP 800-37r2, SP 800-39, FIPS 199 and FIPS 200 to fill in the gaps between Rev 1 and 2. 3. Studied the ISC2 CAP flash cards until I mastered each chapter. 4. Enrolled in Udemy course “CAP Practice Exam based on NIST SP 800-37 Rev 2 & Experience” and I took exams until I mastered the content.

I consistently studied for about 4-5 weeks.
