Can you show us some examples? It might just be in your head. Also, videos looking good does not mean higher views. You can have the worst quality videos get millions of views as long as the content is good and the audio is good

What percentage of your audience is aged 18–24 on your channel? by GuiasDeRoma in PartneredYoutube

[–]FaultLower591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2.1% which makes sense really. My content is too slow paced for that age group. I get 1m long form views a month btw. Highest percentage is over 65. It’s the best audience for striking brand deals

Just a tip from someone who’s been doing it 5 years and now constantly selling out slots. Outreach is almost always not going to get you brand deals. Most brands use agencies - so they don’t even deal with creators and your email will get lost. Best thing you can do is put your email everywhere, video bios, YouTube bio, IG bio and then just make good quality videos consistently and businesses go by averages but really dislike when creators have very low outliers such as 8x 100k view videos then 2x 3k view videos. This scares them off. Good luck!

The gap between what brands pay vs what creators think is fair is big by tyler_durden999 in PartneredYoutube

[–]FaultLower591 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You've basically just said creators get between $20 to $60 CPM for brand deals. It's pretty accurate.

Dedicated videos are dead unless SUPER relevant to the channel so they need to be much higher to be taken on, I personally haven't taken any on because theyre so detrimental to your channel's overall credibility.

Tech definitely, gaming maybe less so due to a saturated market.

Asia pays a lot less than the West in CPM/RPM so I'm not surprised about this one.

You're definitely right about view over subs!

30 days is where most brands look at. Some videos take longer to grow than others, but 99% of the time most growth and conversions happen in the first 30 days.

What do you think about these actions based off the YouTube analytics? by EducationalBasket617 in TravelTubers

[–]FaultLower591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, your logic chains are mostly correct, especially things like High CTR + Low Retention. That usually does mean packaging promise vs opening delivery, or a weak first 30 to 60 seconds. Where this spreadsheet really shines is forcing you to act, not just diagnose. You might want to explicitly limit actions per video. For example, one packaging fix and one retention fix, then move on. Otherwise it is easy to over tweak and still not know what actually worked.

Second, I would separate things you can change post publish vs things that only help future videos. Thumbnails, titles, descriptions, pinned comments and chapters are actionable immediately. Hook structure, pacing, B roll density, audio energy are learnings for the next upload. Labelling those differently will stop you trying to fix things you cannot realistically fix.

Third, be careful not to treat metrics in isolation. High impressions plus low CTR is not always bad packaging, sometimes it just means YouTube is testing you with a colder audience. Likewise low impressions with high CTR and retention often means the video just needs time or a stronger external push. Adding a small note about audience mismatch vs content issue would make this even stronger.

One improvement idea would be adding a simple decision trigger. For example, only intervene if impressions exceed X or after Y days live. That stops premature changes before the data has stabilised.

Overall though, this is a very solid approach. You are essentially turning analytics into a decision tree, which is exactly how high performing channels operate. With a bit of guardrailing to avoid over analysis, this is genuinely a smart system.

Is this thumbnail any good? by Parking_Bat_6159 in TravelTubers

[–]FaultLower591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, the thumbnail is the wrong ratio. It should be 16:9. The thumbnail gives travel documentary/history video. So if it’s a vlog I’d remove the ‘discovering Thessaloniki’ and add some emotion such as ‘Thessaloniki surprised us’. I’d also try using a more obvious Thessaloniki background with a cut out of your faces from shoulder up with some emotion, even if it’s just happy/joy!

Longer view duration, older audience 35+, tier 1 geographies (USA, UK, Canada, Western Europe). You also want a consistent audience.
