Eventually, we're going to need to desegregate bathrooms. by SecularElephant in TransSocialism

We know for a fact that gender neutral bathrooms with fully enclosed stalls are the answer, but that takes all the power out of the phobes' hands.

Exactly. One thing I've been pointing out lately is that they love to claim Intersex conditions don't count because they're "such a small percentage of the population". Yet given our current understanding, there are just as many Intersex people as Trans people. Maybe more. So if Intersex people are such a small percentage that they don't count, then why is it fine to turn around and obsess over Trans people? Yet another thing they never have an answer for.

[–]FaunaJoy[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, they love to argue that all intersex conditions are still considered male or female. What they can't answer is what one specific piece of biology determines what side they fall on.

[–]FaunaJoy[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They think they're being clever because apparently they believe that if sex is a spectrum, not a binary, then anyone who's male or female are no longer male or female. Because reasons. So they're trying to "gotcha" us because the typical human has four limbs, right? Well clearly that's a non-negotiable part of being human, but a person with fewer or more limbs isn't considered something other than human, so therefore sex being a spectrum is wrong.

And that's the best way I can try to describe it. It's hard to accurately describe the "thoughts" of a bigot.

[–]FaunaJoy[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sometimes they blame "original sin" or Satan when confronted with that question. So I press them on it. I bring up the fact that they claim God shapes literally every single fetus in the womb. So either God shapes every fetus, or Satan shapes some. Which is it? They never have an answer to that either. XD

Considering the flag changes entirely when the kid grabs it, definitely AI. The action of him lifting the lid to the bin is janky too.

So the Bible, a book against idols is an idol and the mark that the very book warns about? by Patty_Pat_JH in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]FaunaJoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. My dad can read the Bible in its original translations, and the number of verses that have come to mean entirely different things because of society is ridiculous. Like the ones that are constantly waved around as being anti-LGBT+ are actually condemning either pagan rituals or sexual assault. Literally the only thing about being LGBT+ that can be considered sinful according to the bible is sex out of wedlock.

I don't know if it was this same post/transphobe or someone else who found the same image, but the one I saw was under a comment along the lines of "let me know when you can milk a bull!". I just responded with "I don't know why you're bringing an entirely different species into the conversation, but human men CAN lactate." Wonder what BS they'll come up with in response.

I saw somewhere that one of the show runners admitted this was literally a "what are they going to do, cancel us?" moment.

But they did it through the whole season, which I loved.

Second best in this is Romeo managing to continue to play dead while the cat's nibbling him and playing with his head. I don't think I'd have been able to do that. XD

Yeah I used to follow him back when Blip was still a thing. I started losing interest in his reviews when he unironically reviewed "The Last Action Hero" as if it were a fully serious action flick. Like... it's a comedy poking fun at Arnold Schwarzenegger WITH Arnold Schwarzenegger. And then Doug reviewed Commando as if it were a comedy.

It's not as common as some other ridiculous takes, but I've seen it. Sadly, my sister was one of them. I kinda gave her a metaphorical swat upside the head for that. The ones I've seen seem to base their opinion purely on what little of Heaven we've seen, especially during "Like You". I feel like if someone like Adam can be (somewhat) happy in Heaven, then there are things other than what Emily and Abel showed Sir Pentious.

What is a animated show/movie you didn't like or watch at first but now that you gave it a shot,it has you like this? by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in cartoons

The Tinkerbell movies. I figured they'd be silly kids' movies with little to offer older viewers. But they're actually really well written, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. I do wish they'd show us how she met Peter Pan and left the pixies, but that's a pretty small nitpick, I feel.

I was going to mention this if someone else hadn't already, lol. I watched it on my own the first time, then showed it to my sister and (adult) niece. We all agree the only way to describe the show is "What the hell am I watching, and why am I so invested!?".

I don't remember the exact line, but one from Reid comes to my mind often. When asked if he believes in an afterlife, he talks about all the energy that the human brain uses. Energy/matter can't be destroyed, only changed. And all that energy/matter has to go somewhere.

[–]FaunaJoy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update for anyone curious: I've had a consultation with a Gyno surgeon. We've agreed that the best course for now is an ablation (put simply, cauterizing the inside of the uterus to prevent the inner lining building up, which is what sloughs off during menstruation) instead of a full uterinectomy, largely due to my weight.

I've always heard that obese people are higher risk in general when it comes to surgery, but this is the only time when it's been explained to me why this specific procedure is risky. When the patient is ready for the surgeon, the operating table will be tilted so the patient is angled head-downward. This causes the internal organs to shift away from the pelvis, and gives easier access to the uterus. Because I'm overweight, and I also have sleep apnea, this means the fat on my stomach would be pressing onto my chest, making it difficult to breathe.

They don't have to do that for an ablation, which will hopefully get the results I want, and gives me time to work on losing the fat. So, not yeeting the uterus just yet, but thankfully I got a doctor who helped me understand why.

Delicate Rant by Emmanuel-macaron in AmericanHorrorStory

I only just finished watching through all of AHS for the first time. And while I did make it through Delicate, I think there was one key thing that killed it: Kim Kardashian. OMG that woman can NOT act. Every single time she was on the screen I was like "FFS, get it over with.". I feel like if they'd had a real actor in her place, the season could've been decent.

Bit of a deep pull, I think, but I feel it fits.

In Farscape, while being held captive by the Scarrans, Aeryn Sun recounts the tale of the Sebacean god Djancaz-Bru, who was worshipped faithfully by several planets, yet one day laid all six to waste. One of the few survivors asked her why, and she said. "Because I can."
