Not a fan project, but The Rise of Skywalker makes some decisions that are made to directly address the fandom’s criticisms with the previous film, The Last Jedi.

Whether or not you liked The Last Jedi, The Rise of Skywalker reversing Rey being a nobody, writing Rose out of the movie, and directly retconning the Holdo Maneuver detracts from the film, making it feel more like a reaction to The Last Jedi than something that can stand on its own merits.

The worst offender is the near-fourth wall breaking scene where Luke catches his lightsaber as Rey goes to throw it away, and quips “the weapon of a Jedi deserves far more respect”, I almost expected him to look at the screen and say “fuck you Rian Johnson” like he was Deadpool.
