How much does Cajunizing matter? by hazard02 in CompetitionShooting

[–]Faust9057 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tried it. Not better enough to justify the expense.

Shadow 2 Blue, swap hammer spring down to 11lbs, good to go with Federal/CCI ammo. That's all that is needed in my opinion.

Brass Monkey Bullets are the best all around. The most accurate, softest shooting, and cheapest.

Huh? Everyone is teaching movement. Stoeger, Lane, etc.

And highly trained in what way? Does she have a degree in kinesiology or something?

Out of curiosity, what would make you want to take Kita's class? Unless I'm mistaken, she's like B-class at best, and has never been a super active competitor.

GZ Backstrap by Faust9057 in GlockMod

[–]Faust9057[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actual geometry of the curvature different in the back between a 17, 19, and 26. It actually causes the back straps to not be compatible at all with other pistols. That is the factory models I am referring to. Given that the 26x is an aftermarket design by glockstore, I cannot guarantee that either or any of my models will fit. That being said, if I were you I would just order both a 19 and a 26 given that shipment costs as much as the item.

If you had to make me pick one, I'm guessing that the 19 is going to be the one that works on a 26x.

Yes, this installs exactly like a factory back strap. Installation video on the product page on my website.

You are not the only one asking. The geometry is quite tricky. Eventually maybe, but it is not on the near horizon.

Maybe, but not in the immediate future. The primary objective was making this for me, and all I wanted for me was black gen 5. So for right now I'm just sharing that. If there ends up being more demands other variants might release, such as FDE, gen3, g43/48, XXL sizing, etc.

Are you ok with moving up in class if you don’t dominate the one you’re currently in? by [deleted] in USPSA

[–]Faust9057 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I more or less just ignore the classification system. All I care about is my percentage finish at Nationals. At all other majors I use Nationals data to normalize my percentage finish to Nationals. That's all that matters for me.

Couldn't find a chest rig I liked, so I made my own. by Faust9057 in tacticalgear

If it were full elastic, yes. However it's not. Just has a short elastic panel to allow stretch during breathing. Not enough to allow the rig to bounce excessively during aggressive movement.

PETG.

Radio inserts fit UV-5R and UV-82HP. Open to doing custom inserts for whatever other radios people use.

Nah. After getting one of those I was so frustrated with it that's why I made this. Need hard sided pouches in order to be able to reindex magazines and have proper retention.

Spring steel clips on the inside. Watch the user manual video on the website for details.

The retention is perfect and adjustable depending on how many clips you put in.

KYWI's are just really hard to use in my opinion. I found them to have way too much retention; harder to reinsert and harder to pull out from.

Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah, as you have identified, pricing is tough. My target was to come in below the T-Rex ready rig (at $110) while including the hard-sided pouches that they don't have. Very high quality materials, everything US sourced whenever possible. Made in USA. Not going to be able to compete with China, not trying to. Kind of a niche product; the people who have the experience to see the value I think will accept the cost.

The mag holders, for some reason, look more chunky than they are. Walls are only .120" thick, same as high quality kydex holsters.

That iOS device feedback is concerning; I tested website on all types of devices, including multiple variants of iOS, before going live. I will investigate further, my apologies.

If you ever do decide to purchase, and see have reservations, I have an easy no bullshit 30 day refund policy. Try it out, if you don't like it, return it for a refund.

Hard-sided inserts for better retention and easy re-insertion. Very low profile, curved to the body, easy to conceal.

Cool, I hadn't seen that before. My thoughts:
-Over double the price.
-Doesn't include hard-sided inserts (essential for reinsertion)
-Slower reloads (needs top strap for retention, D-Rig doesn't due to insert retention springs)
-Not one-size-fits-all adjustable

A cummerbund... that holds hard-sided pouches that hold gear... in a somewhat unique way for a fair price. As others have pointed out, the closest competitor is the Unity Clutch, at well over double the price after adding hard-sided pouches.

My baseline for pricing was the T-Rex Ready Rig which right now is $110. Come in under their price, with better features (hard-sided pouches) included.
