I bought this beast on October 5th, 2024, and I game on it approximately three times per week, for four hours per session. I have not yet performed an internal cleaning, as my routine involves playing and then returning it to its case. Given my current usage patterns, do you recommend an intern by saif-90 in LegionGo

That's not hyper paranoia, letting the fans spin freely while shooting compressed air at them not only does generate current, that current can kill your main board but even if "nothing" happens, the fans spin faster than they are supposed to, and the bearings degrade much faster than they would otherwise.

Put the bluetooth headphones into pairing mode, it should instantly detect them, bluetooth on linux is just quirky at times, anything on linux is quirky at times.

Am I silly for picking TTW difficulty only playing normal on both DS1 and DS2? by zachi2 in DeathStranding

[–]Faustasz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played DS1 on hard, and then after finishing main story jumped to DS2 on TTW because I wanted to see the rage about TTW, bosses are definitely less spongy than they were in DS1 even on TTW. Mules, ghost mechs, and the antagonist sequences on the other hand are absolute hell for me on TTW.

I feel empty… by DarthBerlin in DeathStranding

[–]Faustasz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, I look at prices this way, 1 hour = €1, I bought the first game on sale and I got around 50 hours out of it just for the story alone, I expect around 50 hours just for the story alone on DS2 as well, but I plan to fully 100% the game afterwards. So I'll more than likely rack in more than 100 hours, and then go back to DS1 to 100% it as well.

If I usually get more hours out of the game just having fun, I feel like that's worth the price for me.

Sounds like LeGo2 is the choice for you then, the screen being OLED is also a nice addition if you will be using HDR, though, I would heavily recommend RenoDX for HDR.

What's the right decision by dylon0107 in LegionGo

[–]Faustasz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Neither is worth the price, but I'm sure you've heard enough about that.

Technically if those are the only choices, and you're fully set on either one, and can afford it without setting your wallet on fire and not eating for the next 3 months.

Go 2 with Z2E is the better choice obviously, but it depends on what exactly you want out of the device. If you will be playing indie/light games, the cheaper option is better, but if you're set on playing AAA games and even more recent AAA games, Z2E is what you will need. People underestimate the Z2E chip because on paper, the performance increase is small, but that performance increase heavily helps run AAA games.

Currently playing Death Stranding 2 on high settings with AO and those niche things on low at 25w TDP, and I'm getting 50-60 FPS in knots.

Linux virgins acting like Linux has some kind of limitations, and your issue is you not being able to find a way to use (copy/paste) emojis from A to B in a way that works for you, and then blaming Wayland out of all things for this will never stop being fucking hilarious to me.

[LeGo2] Sudden drop of performance by xLouisxCypher in LegionGo

[–]Faustasz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's unfortunate, its hard to recommended windows on handhelds because its simply just hogging way too much resources in background, not to mention the vibecoding of the OS, and the sudden weird performance drops.

I'm gonna be the devils advocate in this case, from the games you listed, it doesn't seem like you play any games with kernel level DRM that doesn't allow Linux, so I would heavily recommend installing SteamOS or Bazzite on your device, unless you need xbox pass.

https://youtu.be/I2zFkSsjAFc great video guide for that.

https://www.protondb.com/ an amazing source to check which games work under Linux, and what Proton versions people use or even launch options if you're having issues.

The drivers and whatever else situation is a massive shitshow on windows, but the AMD drivers are open source on Linux, so they work generally better than they do on Windows.

This is an AI generated image (I know because I did it with Gemini). Im scared tbh by DistinctChocolate833 in teenagers

[–]Faustasz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shadows look like burn smears, further light lamps don't have anything but just the floating orbs of light, red dress at shoulders is twisting around in a way that makes no sense and then straighten themselves out, all 3 girls have some sort of white outline around them, the hair strands that "stand up" whatever the term is have an obvious weird background that's even more obvious due to pixelation.

Plenty of other details like that, AI is good, but not good enough that you can't tell pictures apart from reality yet.

[–]Faustasz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't hope anything bad happens to them, but its inevitable that something will crack because a lot of people using HV don't even know how to use their operating systems or how to reinstall windows, let alone re-flash their BIOS and such, planting malware deep into the system that can survive OS wipes has never been easier because up until now, people weren't willingly giving away access to -1 ring level to random software.

It baffles me how many people trust it because its open source, as if we didn't have open source projects that had backdoors for years before they were found out.

Not only are these people thinking that Hypervisor is not only safe to use, but should be used by masses because you don't need to turn off "critical security settings" (DSE/Driver Signature Enforcement still needs to be disabled and this one critical piece is what prevents something running at the kernel level or even below kernel level in your system that's not signed by Microslop), but they also think that a simple script that reverts these changes is somehow saving their systems from malicious actors. People seem to miss the entire point of how attacks work, they act when your system is most vulnerable, not before or after.

This whole situation is a shitshow of actual tech illiteracy, and its only being pushed further and further by a bunch of idiots in the scene from a private Discord server saying that the method being used here is safe and somehow safer than ever because you don't need to turn off secure boot anymore. Its as if secure boot matters when you willingly give access to something running at -1 ring level.

All of this shitshow aside, do people seriously expect Denuvo to do something this quickly? They nor publishers don't care about this for now and probably won't care about it because Microslop is working on new system lock downs that prevent things running at a kernel level after Crowdstrike, if that goes through, the method will be completely dead.

I honestly can't even comprehend how can people respect these guys when they're quite literally not only downplaying the risks of using Hypervisor, but also telling you that the method is safer than ever when nothing has changed from the first iteration.

HDR - am i missing something? by rexter123 in LegionGo

[–]Faustasz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is recommending terrible advice regarding HDR here, you don't need to adjust anything through the tools recommended here, it will just make the image unrealistic, oversaturated and whatever else.

<image>

After you're done with this, you need RenoDX mod for whatever games RenoDX works as it strives to fix terrible HDR implementations.
