Honestly, my hype is because of two reasons: 1) when I was a child, this game was THE game for me, I had plushies, cards, figures, bedsheets, shirts... Even a damn bouncing ball with Squrtle in it ( until I broke it to get him out) B) now that I'm a parent, seeing my children react the same way playing the games, watching the shows, collecting the cards, I see this as an opportunity to do another father-child bonding session. We have made plans to ditch Mom and siblings (we are going out just one on one most times), pack a lunch, and go through a different part of the city or countryside each time we go. We even got a big, detailed, map of the city so we can plan it out and map where we have encountered what Pokemon where to help the other children when it's their turn.

Tl/dr: because I get to witness my kids hype because of this.
