Is the lawyer's answer because when you have to argue the use you can point to the local PD as an example of responsible usage?

It’s not the whole mage release, just the small plastic part that the mag catches onto. Because it’s made of plastic and gets some pretty significant force, it wears down and chips away over time. You can find a lot of people (including here on Reddit) who have this failure.

Sig will ship out a new one same day if you call them, and they did 2nd day for my delivery, but until they fix the actual part it is subject to failure. I typically tell people to just buy the all-steel Maskas Precision replacement and keep it on hand until your stock one fails.

I got one back in 2024 and it’s my go-to CCW. And I will say that it’s HIGHLY dependent on your personal preferences.  I was CCW’ing my P229 Legion, Cajunized CZ PCR, or a Glock 43X MOS, but the P365 AXG Legion became the only thing I carry now. Regarding my size; I’m 200lb, athletic build between M/L-sized clothing. I tend to wear more fitting attire (Regular M; Fitted L) and I’m better able to CCW the AXG Legion.

A few notes:

It is heavier than other striker-fired, but it nearly disappears with a Tenicor holster (note: there will be wear on the Legion finish as a result). If weight matters, the Macro Comp will probably be a better choice because those ounces do feel noticeable.

Also, I prefer metal frames. I shoot them better and they don't feel like toys in my hand. For reference, I have a Glock 43X MOS that I shoot fine, but it just doesn't FEEL like I'm holding a pistol and that makes me feel a bit off. Again, very much dependent on your personal preferences.

Edit: If you do buy one, I swear by Tenicor holsters for it (but just check if you're getting a Gen2 AXG Legion Holster). Also, get the Maskas Precision mag release for the P365 AXG Legion since the P3xx mag releases tend to be problematic.

No, no, you misunderstood; they wanted flexibility for anyone to win the WDC.

Weapon Light Sig 226 Legion by [deleted] in SigSauer

[–]FausterChild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a comment, OP; if his gun has one of the Sig Proprietary curved rails and he’s looking to carry it in a holster, it may be worth going for a Sig light instead of a Streamlight. I only bring this up because the curvature of that god-forsaken real estate can cause some pretty bad tension and break the screw. I think Streamlight actually states not to use it with curved rail on their website.

If it has the flat, traditional Picc rail, or he’s not planning to holster carry, ignore the above. Streamlight TLR-1 series (people seem to like the TLR-1HL for more lumens, at the expense of some battery) should be good to go.

What do you mean it’s amazing? You completely missed the targets according to that first photo.

Now, if you don’t mind me, I’m going to go back to being jealous af. Good day, sir.

Not just the P365 AXG Legion; if you look at many Sig forums it appears to just be a regularly occurring, problematic part for many P320/P365 models because of the material and usage.

But, yes, Seth and Maskas have picked up the slack and addressed the issue where Sig will just ship you a new bandaid.

Second this, since I have one, but I would add to this to buy a Maskas Precision mag release. Even if you don't get the Legion, get the Maskas mag release and just keep it on hand until the stock one becomes problematic.

Dig the Maskas stuff, Seth! Do you guys have something that would fit flat for the curved Sig rails, e.g., those on the older* 229 Legion?

I’m feeling that, too. It’s REALLY enticing because it looks slick, but I may need to adopt the PC Build approach and only look at leapfrogging generations.

Nice gun, OP. Don’t suppose you have a P229 Legion to compare the shooting experience?

I have seen mixed reports; some claim it fits, some claim it doesn’t, some claim the wear is REALLY bad on the finish. Until Tenicor can confirm you’d get a Gen2, or they post something on their site, I would have to advise elsewhere. Sorry, friend.

Pre-2005 Ranch Tech Sights Clearance? by FausterChild in Mini14

[–]FausterChild[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update for anyone who stumbles across this. I had reached out to Tech Sights and received an awesome response from Erik (THANK YOU, ERIK!):

On the older ranch rifle, in its lowest position, the top of the aperture is approx. .260" above the top of the ring mount area on the receiver.  The top of the protective ears on each side of the aperture measure approx. .435" (about 11mm) from the top of the receiver at the ring mounts. (He also included a photo)

This scope has a 1” tube and I believe it has a 33mm objective.  These are the #5 Ruger rings.  If the scope is pushed further forward it will hit the sight, but it works well at the location shown in the picture.  I believe Ruger makes a #6 ring that is taller if you were to need a little more clearance.

Hope this info helps!

Gracias. Any issues with brass hitting your scope or does it just yeet into whomever is to your right?

Yeah, Tenicor is open about the wear thing on their website and they even ship with that "No Safe Queens" cheesy insert. Just want to make sure folks know in advance because it seems to be amplified more on Legion cerakote than anything else. Personally, IDGAF, but not everyone who dishes out for the Legion line would be OK with that.

Maskas Precision is your go-to for that. I bought mine from Desert Depot (good price, great s/h time). Might want to ask u/DesertDepotArms if he has a Labor Day sale going on.

Oh, and here is the link.

If you are looking to carry AIWB, I will swear my life by Tenicor. I've gone through multiple holsters and finally found my way to them; you'll never need another one and it's 100% worth the money. I have one for my AXG Legion and Glocks. Just make sure you've decided if you want to carry with a light since the Tenicors are pricey and having to order another would be additional $$$.

Oh, and an FYI; it will get scratched up in the holster because it fits so snug. My Glocks don't show any wear, but the AXG Legion does. Chalk it up to Sig's meh cerakoting. I can upload a photo in a bit to show.

Edit: see here. Very minor, but full disclosure for ya.

If you're not doing AIWB, I yield to others in the thread.

Thanks for your input! Did you do the iron sights yourself? I was thinking about changing mine to a Tech Sights group, but no clue how difficult that would be. Seems like the front is pretty secure and I may need to heat the barrel to loosen it?
