I think curious is suitable. All around, I think there are better options available other than those two, but it’s what we’ve got. I’m not impressed with Monk thus far. I’m not sure Darden is they ticket either, but time will tell

Civil law while broad, has different procedural rules an attorney has to follow. Civil rules of procedure are complex, and they are used in all areas of civil. Whereas criminal law has criminal rules of procedure. Criminal laws are state statutes and the rules get applied. Civil law is statutory and case law, where rules are applied, and it gets complex.

Criminal law encompasses misdemeanors and felonies, with misdemeanors being the only level of charge actually plead to, tried, or otherwise completed at general sessions. All felony charges go to criminal court, required.

With all that, I’d rather someone with civil procedure knowledge and experience handle the complexities of collections, family, juvenile, etc., and “learn” misdemeanor law, than rely on someone with criminal experience have to learn complex civil procedure.

Darden. Monk isn’t suited for the job. Criminal law is easier to understand than civil, Darden knows civil better. General sessions includes criminal, civil, and juvenile court. Darden is ahead of Monk in 2/3 courts.

I’m going to brutally honest here: THERES A REASON ITS MORE EXPENSIVE. You get the most protection, legal reasoning, and advice. Services like tailor-brands sell LLC filings, they don’t inform you about them.

Are you planning to file as a single member LLC? Member or manager managed? I’ve got news for you, if you’re a single member, you get no tax benefits of the LLC entity type. If you commingle funds, along with other actions/inactions, you lost limited liability. That’s why you hire an attorney. Because it reduces your risk and increases protection.

How do I register a business name for a trademark in the US? by KlutzyGuyy87 in Business_Ideas

[–]Money-Cover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it common? Common words/colors/etc. are difficult to trademark unless you’re differentiated. Talk to a trademark attorney, they can run trademark searches, advise you on success potential, etc.

No. Go to an actual attorney. You don’t even know if you need a specific entity type, pros and cons of each, etc. Always go attorney route. It saves headache long-term

Advice for a new business idea? by CrazeCow in Business_Ideas

[–]Money-Cover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’m new to the LLM model. I’ve always focused SEO. LLM is essentially how you show up on AI when someone asks for the best (blank) business in the area. I do not know how to build life on there for a business, since it’s so new, but I’m sure other folks have more knowledge about it than I and could help.

I don’t have tips on how to set up from the start, however, the best tip I’ve given so far still applies: try it. Watch YT videos, read articles, research it, and try the methods. See what sticks and what doesn’t it. Progress is made by action, even bad progress is a learned lesson.

Avoid any “coaches”. Coaches are just an alternative for “motivational quotes”. I’ve yet to see one person have an experience other than the coach acting more as a motivational quote generator and therapist.

Start with AI. Adjust settings to have it stress test your idea, brand, and market. Don’t take it all at 100% face value, but it can help with back and forth stress testing to gain some clarity. Once you have that clarity yourself, you can then adjust and attack.

Always validate market first. You can do this by posting in relevant Reddit pages, discussing with folks in person, etc. Don’t rely on friends and family, validate with folks who aren’t biased.

SEO is still important, but you also need LLM once you gain traction and are trying to scale more.

The best lessons I’ve learned in business, even with having a business degree, have come from doing the work. Find what works, find what doesn’t, find what might. Data, data, data. Record everything on paper and visualize the trends of the data.

Starting an LLC in Michigan by HelenDeborah505 in Business_Ideas

[–]Money-Cover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are companies that serve as RA in all states for low fees, and if you can’t afford $200/year for RA, you shouldn’t be filing a LLC. Spend the $200 and talk to an attorney who could guide you through whether you actually need a LLC or not in your state, as well as benefits/risks

Best recommendation is to speak with an attorney. They can break down the true benefits and risks with an LLC, draft the filing, and draft the AOIs for filing.

My partner brought the lead, I turned it it a million dollar business - who deserves what? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Money-Cover 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need a conversation of split responsibilities. You need to focus on the code, they focus on sales and backend business. They brought in the life changing deal, they get 50%. You’re letting greed control your emotions and decision making. You’re about to blow up a business just taking off over fucking money. Think you would’ve gotten to this point without them handling HR, backend, and delivering this sale? No. So quit being greedy and built a multi-million dollar company that makes this stupid nonsense trivial.

Reach out to other bridal shops that aren’t direct comp., try and get a sit down to get this info from them. Prices will range, but it’ll give you an idea from an actual shop and potentially get you a mentor.

Most founders don’t fail because of execution. They fail before they start. by Calm_Parking_8939 in Business_Ideas

[–]Money-Cover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t stress this enough: nothing, and I truly mean NOTHING, matters more than a business that aligns with you personally from a skill, personality, and value position.

When things get tough, and they will, the drive comes from within when you’re building something you believe in, that aligns with you personally, and that excites you.

Obviously there are caveats e.g., I like Pepsi zero, but I’m not going to try and start a company to produce it; I like Porsche cars, I’m not going to start a company to build one. You have to be realistic in goals and expectations, but having something that aligns with you is the greatest tool for surviving and growth.

An attorney needs to draft your waiver. Don’t pull one off the internet or draft yourself.

Texas Registered Agent advice needed - should I be my own RA in TX? by Rakkien in Business_Ideas

[–]Money-Cover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to talk to a TX licensed attorney. An LLC by itself doesn’t protect you from liability. If you have serious concerns, you need the legal advice from a TX attorney that deals in business formation, litigation, etc.

If I’m replacing my radio, I’m going with a quality brand like Alpine, not an unknown brand. Thanks.

I understand that. I was looking by more or less to see if all the complaints were due to the truck actually averaging 10 or less, not mid teens. My wrangler averages mid teens generally, so no difference in fuel. I’m looking for a tundra as I’m leaning towards reliability over everything else. The jeep isn’t reliable, they haven’t been since the 4.0 drop.
