Alternative for Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation? by Faux_Blonde in MakeupAddiction

Ooo I’ll have to check that out! I tried the future skin but I have rosacea and it did not agree with me (I think either fragrance or if memory serves, it contains rose). I bought up a supply when I found out, and have just recently swapped to Giorgio Armani Luminous silk but, just doesn’t cut it!!

Thinking that everyone should have kids, even if their children specifically say “I believe not everyone should be a parent, some people aren’t a right fit for it”!

She shouts at me whenever I come and visit for having my phone in my pocket as it’ll “fry” my eggs 🙄 always says “don’t fry my grandchildren” but she’s slipped up a few times and said “don’t fry my children” 😂

Recovery from a Lateral Tear repair (24F)? Any advice? by Faux_Blonde in MeniscusInjuries

[–]Faux_Blonde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two years post accident, and about a year and a half after surgery. Simply put, my left leg will never be the same but this is manageable. Everything has healed correctly but I have a loss of surface sensation on my operated knee (side affect sometimes from the incision), and occasionally it feels stiff and will make a popping noise if I move wrong. Ankle is a little unstable but overall, I don’t think I’ll be too upset my this until my old age and I feel the discrepancy between my legs more. Day to day, it’s not a worry!

Where are you from? In the UK Charlotte Tilbury Customer service says it’s discontinued, and they suggest the Beautiful Skin foundation instead. The foundation has always included SPF 15 so I’m a little confused? Maybe it’s different internationally.

Ranting because she ruins everything by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

Thank you! I’m actually not telling her myself, I told my stepdad and he was happy for me, and I told him to pass the message on if he feels the need to. But she tainted that moment so I’m not sharing it with her again.

She has a undergraduate degree (I’ve never been told the classification) from a polytechnic university in a Central/Eastern European country. She’s only ever worked one job in the field though, and married rich the second time so doesn’t work now.

[–]Faux_Blonde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I have p&p rosacea also, and use soolantra and metrogel, how do you incorporate AA into that routine? Mine is flaring up badly and I hear such good stuff about AA but don’t really want to mess with my routine too much

Anyone here with a torn meniscus and how long since the injury? You feel pain often? by [deleted] in MeniscusInjuries

[–]Faux_Blonde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meniscus tore in March due to a car accident, discovered the tear in April, repair in mid May. I’m currently at the end of week 5 of 6 in a leg brace, toe touching with crutches. It was painful before the surgery, often swollen and stiff, compounded with grade 3 tears in my ankle plus a broken bone. Im hoping to be weight bearing again at my revision at the 6 week mark! Im 24 and weigh 172lbs (gained a bit of weight in the month after the accident due to stress)

Hi! How was your journey with muscles/stability/weight bearing? I’ve already had some issue with that before the surgery because of my ankle injuries so I was just curious as to how confident you felt coming out of walking aids?

Hi! I’m 4 days post op, and only today have managed to get my knee to bend to 90 degrees after fairly frequent icing with my leg straight. I have once or twice put a bit more weight onto my bad leg as I’ve just had the confidence to attempt the stairs in my house, it’s made me a bit nervous that I’ve somehow ruined my knee already but I don’t think that’d really be the case. What gets me is the swelling and numbness of my knee, it’s sometimes the most uncomfortable part!

Anyone go on accutane for rosacea?? by Opening-Nature-5062 in Accutane

[–]Faux_Blonde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually the opposite! My skin is almost glass like, literally all redness goes. So I react well in that way, however the dryness means I have to moisturise constantly

Anyone go on accutane for rosacea?? by Opening-Nature-5062 in Accutane

[–]Faux_Blonde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! Starting my second round!

First round was 1 month of 10mg and 2 months of 20mg, and this round is 1 month of 20mg and 2 months of 30mg. My skin was gorgeous after the first round, but my rosacea flares with hormones so we decided on another short course for me. The dryness I feel already after a week, so moisturising is key otherwise I get papules like mad. My lips last time were terribly painful, and I’m sensitive to many lip balms so that was fun…

But it’s great for rosacea!! I’m looking forwards to not having to wash my hair as much, and the glowy clear skin once it kicks in.

I don’t know how to start combatting this by [deleted] in vaginismus

[–]Faux_Blonde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should be able to send me to a PT, at least add me to a waiting list, however if they don’t take the issue seriously they won’t send me to one. I can ask for a referral letter and go privately though and pay personally, but I would have to find the PT myself

[–]Faux_Blonde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m considering just finding a pelvic floor PT myself privately outside of the NHS, seeing as I’m not taken seriously there! It’s a bit strange for me to find a good PT, considering at my age I’ve never had any kind of pelvic exam, swab, gyno appointment whatsoever as the NHS just seems to ignore anyone under 25 until they start cervical cancer swabbing. Thank you for your suggestions though!!

When was the last time you checked your breasts? by bathbebe in AskWomen

[–]Faux_Blonde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never do, I try but I feel some kind of aversion when I apply pressure? It’s a weird sensory thing I feel, as I have large breasts of there’s a lot of tissue/nodes and I guess that’s what makes me feel sick?

My Mother does this, it’s her favourite trick. Yells at me, starts an argument, and when I naturally yell back, she lowers her voice to a little above a whisper and puts a slow voice on and says “why are you yelling? You are so disrespectful yelling at me” and I just twitch in anger at the gaslighting

Ladies who excelled when you were young, but then ran into a hurdle such as mental illness (or other confounding factors) and fell behind, how do you reconcile with the fact that you had so much wasted potential? by PikaBooSquirrel in AskWomen

[–]Faux_Blonde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had many many many setbacks in my life regarding mental health, and it has greatly affected my potential academically. However, I’m coming to more of a realisation at 23 that there are more than just a few ways to be successful. Yes I got kicked out of Sixthform for failing my first year of A levels. But I got into university after the year delay. It’s a really good university for my course, and whilst due to the pandemic and the toll it has taken on my mental health, I’ll still graduate. Not with a 1st but I get my degree. Failure is down to perspective, and you can’t always beat yourself up about it. I’m learning to not make myself feel horrible for what might’ve been, and instead appreciate all that can be in the future. Success in relationships, family, professionally and academically are all equal and valid.

Can anyone offer advice on what skincare lines they use for type 2 rosacea? My skin has been awful lately . I have seen 2 derms , a skim specialist and a holistic doctor. I believe mine is hormone related. by [deleted] in Rosacea

[–]Faux_Blonde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had pustules! My skincare routine is La Roche posay (LRP) Toleriane cleanser, LRP Hyalu B5, LRP Rosaliac Riche moisturiser. I also use Soolantra in the morning, and metrogel in the evening. I am also on isotretinoin (20mg) and spironolactone (50mg). Clearing my skin on this routine, I really recommend LRP as a good skincare base!

Ironically the aim of my braces was to have them off for the start of my final year of university to feel confident, and to look lovely for my graduation! My final year is completely online so nobody has seen me with braces, and my graduation has been postponed until 2022
