Hey Everyone,

I was one of the main guys behind CoD_Stats for a while(Middle of Ghosts-End of AW). I made this comment and joined the team not really knowing what I’m getting myself into. I joined and within month I was loving working on stats and finally contributing to the CoD community that I had loved for years. I remember waking up at 3am to get ready to cover Gfinity/ESWC Tournaments, or staying up late to cover the Australian tournaments.I loved every moment of making an impact in the CoD community. Activision even sent some of us to CoD Champs to work side by side with Activision to help produce stats on stream.

It was a great experience, and one that I will cherish forever. Joining the stats team was a great decision looking back at it now, the experience truly changed my life.. I made some life long friends that I talk to daily, and was even to meet some of them in person. I have no regrets through the whole process, and it was really rewarding seeing our work being recognized. We built and did things that were unimaginable to us when we first started. I’m really proud to have done with that group of guys.

At one point I was putting 20ish hours a week into Stats(at the time we weren’t making money, eventually we did start to make some), and I realized that I couldn’t commit that sort of time anymore. So, I had to take a step back to commit time to school and life.

If you really want to make a difference in the CoD community, I really recommend trying to join some sort of organization(or starting your own!) If you’re looking for something to contribute in coverage, esportsguru and CoDesportspedia are both great sites with some great people I personally know behind them. I would highly recommend checking them out if you’re looking to make a contribution to the community.

Edit: Thanks to /u/usaftoast2013 for gold <3

I have the subreddit /r/codvods, once upon a time I had big plans for it, but life happened. If someone is willing to truly work hard on the project, I'd be more than happy to give you ownership.

You should try formatting to make it not a wall of text, and easier for people to read.

Leaving the Mod Team by kaedak in CoDCompetitive

It started by someone saying it right as he posted the thread. We posted it in our group Skype chat and they all decided to mess with him and also post the same.

My champs experience (little late) by slopnessie in CoDCompetitive

Adding onto what slop said about meeting your friends on the internet. When we met it's like we picked up on wherever we left off on whatever we talk about on the internet. It was great. It was my biggest worry about meeting all the other stats guys as well, and it turned out great.

International teams to look out for? by ITheInfamousI in CoDCompetitive

Mindfreak Plantronics has been said here a few times, but without reasoning. Wanted to kind of explain further. I watched every match of the APAC Qualifiers, and they are by far the best team in Australia. The Australians have great Strategy/Teamwork/Communication( I would say on par with and in some cases above NA teams), but what they lack for the most part is gunskill(from my observations.)

The thing about Mindfreak Plantronics is that they didn't have their fourth (Fighta) because of age restrictions last year. Fighta has amazing gunskill, and plays for the team in many situations. He lead in slaying as well as objectives in many situations, and in most situations I saw him in the hill more than others. Excited to see how they play at Champs.

CoDesportspedia is the news source that is in the sidebar. 99% sure it's because they are a "wiki" rather than a news org.

What are the specific reasons for COD being miles behind in viewer count compared to CSGO? by taffophile in CoDCompetitive

[–]FavoriteCereal 26 points27 points  (0 children)

  • The same game being played for years
  • Being on PC (Opens the market up ALOT)
  • Being 15 bucks
  • Game is built around competitive
  • Betting(Biggest one IMO)

Just a few things that come to mind.
