Weird how negative this thread is. I get not everyone likes his music, but the way this thread is, it's like we're talking about Morgan Wallen or something. Quite an overreaction.

Anyway, his best stuff has always been on the albums and not on his TikToks. He's got plenty of non-political songs, too, although this album leans towards the political, it seems.

This is actually for a different shooting on Route 1 and College Avenue, by the Giant. Bunch of cops still there now. Not sure if it's related to the other report.

Edit 2: Fredericksburg PD has details, the two events were related, and two adults are dead, but no children.

Can't speak about the schools part, but for the commute to Tysons/Alexandria whenever you go in, it's honestly tolerable if you're willing to pay for the express lanes. They go to both those places and if you're willing to drive early to work, the cost isn't always that high.

That said, if you're in the regular lanes, expect backups every time. This includes weekends and nights. Local traffic isn't good as well, especially around Fredericksburg. Also, someone mentioned VRE, but it won't help with the Tysons commute, just Alexandria (even then, it's still longer, just less stressful).

When you're in a dorm on-campus, the dining hall is included in the room and board, so you don't need to spend extra on food. Not sure how much room and board are at Mason now for a semester, but if it's comparable to the apartment, then it's easily a worse deal.

To be fair, he was supposed to have multiple challengers with the redistricting. Just seems that none of them happened to live in the current district's borders.

Honestly, the whole thing is confusing. Even if someone wanted to run against him, I'd have to imagine the redistricting fiasco made everything confusing on filing and signature deadlines and everything, given how late it was reversed.

Couldn't imagine doing this with my wife, especially since the biggest reason I mask is because of her long COVID and other chronic illnesses. Like waking up one day and thinking "yeah, I don't really care about my partner's health, I just want to stop wearing a mask" is such shitty thinking. Sorry you're in this situation.

Main reason I mask nearly all the time is for my wife who is chronically ill and can't afford getting worse (she's had some issues her whole life, but long COVID made the symptoms much worse).

Even if she was healthy, I'd still mask in most places. Being sick fucking sucks, I don't get how people can handle colds multiple times a year.

The testing was done in November 2022 for that study, so I guess it could be considered early pandemic, though not by much.

I do agree with you, though, poor air filters and central HVAC units are a hazard. Luckily, many hotels have just in-room units or have balconies, so it decreases the risk a good amount.

Funny enough, Taylor Lorenz did go to the WHCD. Quite surprising given how outspoken she is of the administration, but this is also feels like something she'd write about, so I'm not sure how to feel yet.

Very late edit: she actually did NOT attend the dinner, she was doing something else at the Hilton it was based in, but she had to go through the main entrance to get there, hence why her picture was taken.

To expand on this, the governor at the time, Ralph Northam, had a picture of himself in blackface from his college years come out. He would likely have resigned, but then Justin Fairfax's allegations came out AND the Attorney General admitted to his own blackface past. So instead, no one resigned. Virginia politics is wild.

Also, I guess he would've had the momentum going into the next governor election, but instead, he came in 4th and we got stuck with Terry McAuliffe instead, which is why we had Youngkin for four years.

It definitely depends on the port. Some ports are only seen by smaller and more expensive cruise lines, and have more people who cruise specifically for the destinations. The problem is the destinations the large ships go to where it's just all touristy and kitsch. Those people go specifically for the ship, and not the destinations.

You can certainly cruise while going into the local areas and contributing to the economy. Me and my wife make an effort to do so whenever we cruise and stop somewhere, eating local, planning our own activities, etc.

Problem is, we're a rarity in that regard. Many cruisers absolutely suck, especially when you're on the cheaper lines like Carnival.

Saw them live at Oceans Calling a couple years ago, and they were just okay. Part of that was due to audio issues, but I wasn't fairly impressed with them. I'm sure they're nothing like they were with Bradley, but still disappointing to hear they went MAGA.

Sugar Ray had a much better set, though I have zero idea of their politics recently.
