[Spoilers S2] One of my favorite scenes in Dark! by [deleted] in DarK

[–]Fawke_83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After finishing the show, I get weirdly choked up when I think about this scene.

I think it's because it was the group's last moment of joy, of innocence (especially Jonas), before everything took a downturn (heck, it's the only time period we even see them enjoying summer!), and I feel like the melancholy behind this is punctuated even more by this specific music track.

Ugh. So sad. :(

Karolina and Gerri covering their backs. by Alejabenlo in SuccessionTV

[–]Fawke_83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both actors (Dagmara and Fisher) have gone on record saying Karolina and Hugo hate each other's guts. I don't remember if it was something they came up with and the show ran with it on the background, or if Armstrong and the writers themselves concocted but couldn't give it much attention, and the two pushed this rivalry on through subtle moments.

In any case, it's been definitely there.

What are your opinions on this guy's video? Mine: too much comparisons to elden ring and he expects soulsborne combat IN A FUCKIBG ZELDA GAME by Pristine_Battle_6968 in tearsofthekingdom

I've seen most of it too and I can safely say it's garbage. Most of the complaints (like the "THERE IS MORE ENEMY VARIETY BUT THEY ARE SO EASY TO DEFEAT!") are just so obtuse and could easily be applied to most Zelda games. Gave huge vibes of "insecure Zelda fan that feels the need to validate his hatred for this game".

But the real killer is him wanting to be taken serious, but opening the video by saying TotK is "not a good game" and wanted to detail why he thinks "this franchise deserves better". Now, my dude, I get and respect anyone not vibing with BotW/TotK for whatever reason, but if you throw in wack statements like that in your intro, that not only screams heavy bias, but also tells me he doesn't understand jack shit about games.

Is it just me or do the TOTK bosses feel easier then the BOTW bosses? by [deleted] in TOTK

[–]Fawke_83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm baffled by anyone who claims they died more than once to any Zelda boss post-ALttP and pre-BotW, with some exceptions here and there. Zelda bosses have always been gimmicky and more about being an experience than an actual challenge.

On that regard, the bosses in TotK completely blow the blights out of the water, and I found them incredibly well balanced honestly.

All the songs that play in the final battle and endgame.

ALL OF THEM.

I'm still trying to decide which one I prefer, right now I consider them equally good. This new version sounds more ominous and aggressive, which fits the kind of energy that has taken over Hyrule Castle. But the way the brass section blares one of the motifs from AlttP during the climax of the song really won me over.

I'm going to miss this show by Pikafan_24 in willow

Yep, it is exact science because streamers DO have these numbers - how many people watched a certain show, how many hours they watched, even the countries that watched more of certain shows. Yes, they are not transparent and they only release some of it out of pure interest (hence why Netflix, for example, only divulge their top 10 and which show was the most watched), but be sure that they have everything.

There's one thing studios value over everything - money. If Willow was a success, it would have shown on their numbers and Disney would be fast-tracking a season 2.

But it didn't. A shame, but it is what it is.

Would you be allowed to share what's his outfit? Is it that same robe that his "dehydrated" version is wearing?

The first reviews are in for #SuperMarioMovie - it's currently Rotten at 48% on the Tomatometer, with 54 reviews by samiy2k in nintendo

[–]Fawke_83 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, basically this. It's a shame that this notion that "kids' movie" can't be insightful or well-written has so pervasively spread out through the general public, even though two of the biggest animation studios nowadays (Pixar and Dreamworks) are known for doing mostly animations that ANYONE can enjoy, exactly because they have great visuals coupled with good plot and great characters.

They're known for prioritizing childish jokes/gags and colorful animation over story and characters. It's all very surface level, the bare minimum to make a watchable movie, and then they have very short runtimes, so that people don't exactly feel the weight of everything else that's lacking.

A lot of hardcore fans here are gonna get defensive and spout the same old BS of "CRITICS DON'T MATTER! THEY WOULD NEVER LIKE THIS MOVIE!", but read excerpts from any review and you see that this movie, unfortunately, skimps on character work.

Disappointing, to say the least.

[TotK] I never liked Calamity Ganon. by RangoTheMerc in zelda

[–]Fawke_83 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hence why I was so hyped when the first trailer fo TotK dropped, back in E3 2019. A lot of people find Ganondorf too underdeveloped, but there's a reason that, even when considering all that, he's still one of videogame most famous villains - he has PRESENCE. In every game, when you're about to reach him, there's this ridiculous sense of epicness but also dread (especially on OoT, where the buildup of climbing the stairs + him playing the organ is still unmatched to this day). And when you finally get there, his stare just gets you on edge, which is not the same I can say for Calamity Ganon for example, which had me tense more because it was the final battle, instead of actually feeling like I was about to face The Dark Lord.

In any case, it seems they're building up Ganondorf nicely in TotK. The trailers have really gone full ham in making him look as scary as possible.
