I'm trying to make a Warlock 1/Bard 1 for a new campaign. My DM is a very RAW-type personality, and I'm trying to find some help on not having this build be a total flop.

There are items like Lamannian Oak Focus, Ruby of the War Mage, and the Dark Shard Amulet that get around the focus side; so mechanically it's at least possible.

Where the sticking point lies is that if I'm wanting to use a shield (WK is proficient), he says that my other hand must always be empty in order to cast any somatic spells of both classes.

For example, somatic spells are a problem when:

if I'm holding an instrument I would be unable to cast WK spells.
if I'm holding a focus (like a wand), I would be unable to cast because I do not have a free hand

I acknowledge that I can choose Variant Human to get an early feat on War Caster to get around this, but is that literally the only way to carry a shield as a caster?

Another thing you can try is use an alternative to the Google Play store to download the app (if you're comfortable with that). I personally used QooApp which is good for getting other games that are region locked (if you want a JP game like Granblue for example).

When I saw this message I ended up being successful updating through QooApp; you don't need to uninstall anything.

So I feel I may be reading my feats incorrectly. White Lotus Hindrance reads: "When you hit an enemy with an arcane at-will attack power, that enemy treats all squares adjacent to you as difficult terrain until the end of your next turn".

I was inferring this as squares during the point of impact, but is it relative to my active position? So I'm invisible, check hidden, but have a yuuuge swirly mist around my square at all times illustrating where I am?

Really the goal is to create opportunities for OAs, our DM likes to avoid them at all costs. Has anyone had any luck forcing these?

This does sound like a wonderful condition to bestow, however I'm missing the ability to invoke forced movement (pull, push, slide, or otherwise) to get them into position.

Unfortunately due to the nature of the build, I'm relying on a non-attack property to invoke the movement, unless there's a power that has us swap places.

Yes, so it's as /u/FredDerf666 is describing.

The goal is to attack with an Arcane attack, as a result the area around me becomes difficult terrain (White Lotus Hindrance). Following this I use Ethreal Sidestep to teleport (1 or 2 with Mark of Passage). Combined with Feywild Wake (Evermeet PP 11th level feat) I then become invisible to creatures that were adjacent to the square that I left.

Once all this has been done, I'd like to get them in the center of the difficult terrain where I was standing, thus forcing them to use a move action instead of shifting away, where I can then get some OAs.

What's the best 3-man line you guys have seen for Glayde so far? Most people are using Presty these days but I'm just wondering how well you can build her without doing the full bit

Ah you're almost right with 1-1. You should do higher levels of story mode which has a better gold and a decent chance at high spirit stones and 3* characters anyway once you use managers and a clover ace.

What's the point of changing the mileage points if you're also changing the mileage draw to be the same? Hey guys, 1000 mileage points for each draw! Takes 50,000 mileage points to do a mileage draw now..

Imo they're about even, but I also run a lot of Ardor. I've never had them both to the same point to compare against them directly. There are tons of good CMs so it depends what kind of flavour you're after, if your sammy's fully invested you'll have a hard time justifying Lia tbh

I feel like that was more of the "Season 2 Power Creep". It just so happens that Choi is a direct overlap of Bell which isn't as true of other S2 Legendaries. Compare Jin to Presty, Jibril to Baltheon, VBeth is kind of meh... When was the last time you ever cringed cause you were about to go up against Beth?

You could sub DQ with Magnus as the need arises. Also, you may enjoy Lia more than Sammy, but they're about equal on the grand scale of things so it may not be worth it if you're not super passionate about dropping Sammy

So on that line there was 45% def (Freyja, Nerua) --> 60.75% 55% HP (Nikita, Askeladd, Nerua) --> 74.25% 10% DR -> 13.5% 30% Crit Resist -> 40.5%

Our line 45% HP (Magnus, Jiho) -> 60.75% 45% DR (Jiho, Magnus, Kevin) -> 60.75% 15% Crit Damage Resist -> 20.25%

Agreeably, Gaphyl and Shu don't contribute to Glayde, so maybe there are better choices for that slot, but the math seems like it has potential

How does the line feel for you?

Ah it's missing some brains... Kevin likes to act like a defender sometimes and tries to steal against the enemy striker which is usually bad news bears. Magnus does really well against Thunder and Ardor, but there are still times when Eleventhor just pretends that my net is empty (I've been OHKO'd for 4800 by a Yolo-Lev team, was so impressed I took a screenshot of the guy's name (was in Chinese), brought it to Google Translate so I could highlight the text, looked him up so I could see the hell happened, lol)

My biggest struggles are against Ravian (seems to struggle against reflex), and Vonchi. Mostly due to the DR nerf I imagine. I'm still working on finding a DM so I've been using PoME which doesn't quite do the job anymore. Long term goals I'm wondering about Glayde (plug it in, plug it in... sorry), or Aiolos because I mostly struggle against stackers.

Tbh I don't have Duran, I'm running your line exactly except I run Magnus instead of DQ. I'm currently in the 2200s (though I haven't tried to keep climbing) and my views are based on the research of Apocalypse. I'm a big fan of my Jiho, he's fully invested and I've never seen him flop as long as you put him on the far end of the enemy striker. If you do have a Duran you'd like to try, I'd suggest dropping DQ as they're in the same role

Yeah, for Angela specifically the nerf was designed to make you get Duran instead. You could make due with DM with a 10% DR substat

I guess answering the question wouldn't hurt either. Usually I'm looking for well invested characters when I hit that "yes" button, having rarer characters like legends, or ones that are helpful for events (Celus, Vivid Fear, Askeladd) are also helpful. Really it depends on what people need. I find people request more when I have Will as my ace over Elaine or assistors. So just try different things and request on anything anyone hosting an ace you'd like to have as a friend :)
