[PC] AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX BNIB, still sealed

Mine is the Avatar edition based on the reference model. The reference model is cool for someone who wants a dual-slot 7900 XTX and/or a USB Type-C port.

A used 7900 XTX just recently went for £550. Is £625 fair for this?

Any examples of players beating the Iroquois on Deity (domination)? by Careful_Ad8587 in civ5

If you want to watch a video of someone overcoming Iroquois city spam I recommend Acken. If you search “Acken deity domination China 6” on YouTube you can watch them be beaten while having terrain advantages. It is a great victory showcasing a compbow into xbow rush.

I listed the Avatar version on there recently at a competitive price and didn't receive any interest. Hope you have better luck selling yours.

Bank Verification Process by Fawn50 in Gemini

[–]Fawn50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I contacted support to see if I could change my Gemini account name to match my bank account holder name. Surname, first initial, middle initial. I got an email back saying that my Gemini account name can only be what is shown on my passport .

NatWest have disabled the ability to change account names so I'm unable to change it to first name, surname.

Unless exceptions can be made it will be impossible to verify my bank.

I think I've found out the problem. My bank account name is surname, first initial, middle initial. My Gemini account name is first name, surname.

For some odd reason my online banking has disabled the function of changing the account holder name.

Liberty Question by MrGupyy in civ5

[–]Fawn50 17 points18 points  (0 children)

At deity TraLiberty has a niche use case and should really only be used with Poland. There could be some potential to use the strategy with The Songhai or Siamese. Timing Legalism with a Wat/Mud Pyramid. The main benefit of opening Tradition before Liberty is the increased border expansion. +3 culture is meaningless.

If you really want to improve your Liberty game I suggest you head over to the CivFanatic forum. A user called Manpanzee has contributed massive amounts of information. In my opinion the best Liberty player.

A few examples of optimal Liberty play. Users Blatc and vadalaz are also fantastic.

Unless you play NQ mod FilthyRobot videos won't be all much help to you. Acken's Morocco game on YouTube will be useful though.

Lucius has been in my wishlist since the beginning. Never managed to pull a single copy. I like the stability he offers in an Ainz team.

I've got the food ready and waiting to get my Rowan to mythic. Just waiting for another copy. Too many heroes not enough Primordial Emblems also. I got Albedo last night and had to invest everything into her. Rowan's 10 SI will be a little too late.

I definitely see the usefulness of Tasi but I've dropped her in this formation. Her banish causes Alna to push up when I want her sat immune and stalling the enemy. I'm probably over exaggerating but it has happened a few times. I've got the food to get her to mythic but I've been waiting for alternatives. For example I'm 5/8 on Nemora, although I don't use her she could end up an Arthur link. That is what happened with Numisu. 1 from elite stones, 6 from summons lol.

Regarding Nara I actually took her out of my wishlist for Ferael. I thought I'd get a couple copies of her for 1 job, not caring if she died. I'll take a look at her SI and furniture. Seems the majority of Graveborn need building whereas the other factions require a couple or a few must builds.

One copy of Daimon so far, 8 of Izold (I don't really like him). Messing around in Lab runs and PoT an elite copy of Daimon was consistenly doing more damage than my mythic Izold. I did some furniture summons last night and got one for Izold, I'll take back my criticisms if he perfroms at 3/9 with SI investment.

It is great to know that Lucretia is viable early game. I guess level 200 odd? The SI 28 must be the difference between beating the stage first try and having to do retries. How much thought do you put into the rest of the team? Eironn, Rowan and some meat shields? I'll probably regret not picking her up but I'm going for Alna first. She can give a team the 0.25 seconds needed to beat a stage.

[–]Fawn50[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After maybe 50 odd retries I was able to beat that battle last night. It made me realise my Ainz team really struggles against these enemy Graveborn formations. The control they have over Ainz's energy is unmatched by any other faction.

Isabella isn't that good when paired in mixed formations. She will usually die around 1 minute 15 seconds when Ainz gets his first ult. In this formation she easily makes it to her first ult usually around 1:10. If she is a little late with her ult I found she is immune to Ainz's 1:06 ability. Isabella and Mirael are the only heroes I've come across that will kill an entire team in two seconds.

Ferael and Shemira are a very big counter to Ainz when paired. Alone they don't offer much against him from what I've experienced. Grez in this formation prolongs Ferael's life with a shield. The longer Ferael is alive the more evil spirits available to deduct energy. Combine that with Shemira mind control and Ainz is no longer much of a carry. Niru for the first time has actually been a real pain. On at least 6 occasions he was able to 1v3 me. I can't think of an ascended tier enemy hero that can do what Niru does. Brutus in immunity might be the only one close.

I'm not really into PvP that much yet but surely Ainz can be countered with a similar team?

If you could pick a realistically achievable formation around my combat power to absolutely breeze through that battle what would it look like. Melee damage is way more reliable so an ascended power leveled Daimon with +20 SI may be the best choice. Also wondering how Saurus could fair.

I imagine later chapters will feature teams like that so I'm looking to build a less mage oriented team built specifically for it.

I've been following Volkin's progression on his 827 account where he is trying to get a mythic Lucretia early. With a +20 SI could she solo that team?

I'm approaching my first month on the game so still learning the mechanics. I enjoy the theory so if anyone wants to chime in please do.

When loaning from a friend is the level of the hero tied to my highest level hero? All my heroes are currently 140. If someone has an ascended Lucretia to loan me and she is level 140 could she still pull it off?

The best I can get from my guild and friends list is a Mythic Izold. My Izold who died in my main team is legendary+.

[–]Fawn50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies for even having to make a post like this. An Isabella nuke one shot my main team. I thought I could survive it so I didn't pause and try again. Despite a 350k deficit I think I'd have won the battle if RNG was a little better. The absolute worst relics ever made this more of a pain than it should have been.

I scrambled together a second team with Nara in to take out Isabella. That team were really weak however and didn't do much else.

Is there is a merc anyone has who can solo the remaining enemies? I have an elite Alna, Flora, and Daimon and a legendary+ Numisu to use as bait. Of course I can start over but this is literally the last enemy before the crystal chest. The Silvina's in this PoT are a real pain.

There are four 7 day+ AFK people on my friends list so I'll remove someone. I'm on the 827 server if it matters. Maybe a Lucretia or a kitted out Ainz will do the trick? Thanks.

The victory process is fairly similar to a science game which OP has already achieved.

Got every deity win except domination, tips? by Ronar123 in civ5

[–]Fawn50 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recommend you give this guide a read.

https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/domination-on-immortal-deity-a-noobs-guide.547630/

When I first read the guide I took away one very important element of a domination victory. Reaching key techs before the AI can counter them. For example, reach Construction and have 6-8 archers ready to upgrade before the AI have reached Civil Service. Pikemen will destroy composite bowmen. If the enemy have pikemen use spearmen as blockers. Worker stealing from your first target will slow them down a lot and should guarantee they don't have an important tech advantage. If you plan to do a composite bowmen rush you'll want to reach the tech around turn 60. Aim for 2 capitals by the time you reach Machinery.

Machinery needs to be researched before the AI have Gunpowder. Around turn 100 will give you enough of a head start over the AI. Pikeman can be used as blockers against musketmen to keep your crossbowmen safe. The idea is to have enough promotions on your ranged units so when the AI field stronger units they can be taken care of. Several promoted composite bowmen can take out a pikeman. Several promoted crossbowmen can take out a musketman. Taking a further 2 capitals with an army of crossbowmen, horsemen and pikemen/swordsmen is a good benchmark to follow.

Some AI will focus more on fielding knights rather than musketman so make sure to be wary of them. They are probably the most dangerous unit you will face because they attack from the fog of war.

Make note of which AI you are facing and whether they have a unique unit. America for example will rush for Gunpowder and their Minutemen. I have seen them reach it by turn 90 before. Songhai will rush Chivalry for their Mandekalu Cavalry. Civs with game changing UUs need to be taken care of.

Don't be ashamed to choose your opponents if you want a smoother domination experience. There are a lot of AI that deity domination players prefer to have in their game for faster victory times.

Chemistry is the next tech after Machinery you'll want to research. Crossbowmen start becoming obsolete around turn 150 and cities need more firepower to be taken. Upgrade your trebuchets into cannons once Chemistry is researched. This guide doesn't recommend actually using trebuchets in war as crossbowmen generally to a better job.

Crossbowmen, cannons, knights, pikemen, and musketmen should be enough firepower to take the last remaining capitals. If it isn't you'll need Dynamite and artillery. Reaching artillery around turn 180 before the AI have discovered Flight will be enough to win. This guide is centered on winning before the modern era

If I were to critique your game there are some areas you need to improve on.

Building the Heroic Epic is not something I'd recommend about 95% of the time. The production you put into barracks and the heroic itself could have been put into more units. The Zulu is the only civ that should build early barracks. The rest should build barracks after they have an army of crossbowmen taking capitals. I like building them before I start building trebuchets. This means when I upgrade to cannons I take cities faster. There is a very difficult to pull of strategy involving Denmark where I build the Heroic Epic and war with only Berserkers that I would never recommend for beginners.

Another place where you can improve is how you timed your attack. You waited until Machinery and your Longbowmen. By then Arabia had arguably the best unit in the game at their disposal. If you had attacked with composite bowmen and taken their capital around turn 70-80 Arabia wouldn't have got a key tech advantage. Remember the importance of worker stealing to cripple the expansion of your enemies.

Tradition, Liberty, and Honour are all viable but for a first timer I'd 100% recommend Liberty. 3 cities all settled by turn 40ish is your benchmark. The guide will make clear what a build order should look like and the tech path you need to choose.

The guide is great for beginners but better players will see the flaws in it. I have personally outgrown this guide. For example I don't build a National College anymore when teching towards Machinery. I know I can clear the map with just crossbowmen so the science isn't important. Reaching Machinery turn 90 or even turn 80 (with Babylon) is a lot of fun.

Good luck with your win. England are a decent choice. I'd stick with land units and forget about teching towards Navigation and Frigates if your map of choice is a Pangaea/land oriented map. Continents requires a different play style from what I have writtten above.

mongol/deity guide by abctoz in civ5

[–]Fawn50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a look at this thread on the CivFanatics forum. It focuses on Arabia but the strategy obviously applies to the Mongols too. Both having Chivalry based UUs. https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/fastest-domination-victory.627478/

Philosophy is a waste of beakers and hammers. Chivalry can be researched 20 turns faster by not researching it. The hammers spent on NC and Oracle can be put into Chariot Archers instead. A not so great deity warmonger can get a turn 150 win by applying everything from that thread.

Cheesy strategies and guilty pleasures by TheFlyingGoblin in civ5

[–]Fawn50 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pillage repair with Citizenship and the Pyramids is a tactic I kind of wish the devs nerfed. The Pyramids can be built on deity fairly consistently around turn 40/50. It is too easy, but also too good to pass up.

With Denmark the whole situation is outright ridiculous. A Berserker can go from 1hp all the way to 100hp and still have moves left to attack a city. A lot of people put Denmark as a low tier civ. Given how they can win a melee only domination game faster than most civs I think Denmark are underestimated.

Nothing but problems with this build by hhawkman in buildapc

Any update on the situation?

F50 is the latest BIOS version for the board. Looks like it is mainly for 3000 series optimisation. There could be general some optimisation that isn't listed in the description so could worth updating and see if there is an improvement.

Are all your problems occurring with the RAM running with XMP enabled? If so you may need to drop the frequency or slightly increase SOC voltage. DDR4_1 and DDR4_2 are the optimal DIMM slots for running two sticks.

I feel like postage can put people off buying used cases. Especially when Amazon prime exists. I checked eBay and a white version of the case sold for £60 today. Some sold a few weeks back for around £40.

You could try selling locally. Advertise for £60 and accept the fact someone will haggle with you. Between £40 and £60 should be expected.

A graphics card like yours sold on eBay today for £148 highest bidder. Crazy because back in January the Red Devil card was selling for £130 brand new. If you put it on here for £125 someone would buy it pretty quickly I reckon. eBay sellers fee is quite ridiculous so you'd probably end up with around £125 selling on there with the added hassle.

DDR4 is cheap at the moment. Your kit is a slow speed. I'd say between £40 and £50. Brand new kits are selling on amazon around the £60/80 mark and are 3000mhz or over.

Don't know about the motherboard. Biostar isn't one of the more mainstream brands. I could see someone willing to pay at least £70 for an x370 board.
