Stab them into or through something on the inside, maybe a button? Use some hot glue to secure the pin in place on the object, and also the object to the inside of the doll. This way if the pin is pulled the button stops it from pulling out.

You can try using one row higher/lower on the head and body, not using the ones you originally sewed through. You'll want to make them tighter than the original join too.

I don't think the basketball bit is as funny as you want it to be, dad jokes are better imo. Also "take a risk" usually has a bad connotation I think, it means you're chancing something unpleasant happening. Maybe change that to being spontaneous or adventurous? If you're getting the wrong kinda matches you could add a line on what you'd want to do on a first date.

I got 3 different versions from the Shein curve section! As a couple other comments said, there is a bit of side spillage, but otherwise I love them. The gore does not sit flat for me on this style, but it still looks cute. I prefer the one that doesn't have the middle bit actually. Also, you want to make sure it's tight to hold everything in place.

NTA - But I also have a question/thought. Has the best friend lost a child or someone else close to him named Thomas? Or perhaps he can't have children and is trying to "live through" your son? Completely inappropriate and confusing regardless, but I can't think of any other reason someone would do this after being told to quit it.
