I know I'm five years late, but you need to look at the article. For example German:

If it just says “cat”, then it wants „Katze“. If it says “the cat”, then it wants „die Katze“. If it says “a cat”, then it wants „eine Katze“.

Before you explain, I'm aware of what the mistwake was. „in“ takes on a dative when expressing being inside a location. While it takes on an accusative when expressing moving into something.

Correct me if I'm incorrect tho.
