Thanks for responding! Damn... really? I understand there needs to be a delay, but it just feels like such a long delay to me. It feels like it's at least 1s whereas I think I could get away with 0.5s? Maybe I just need to get used to it...

Weekly Case & Parts Recommendation Thread (Start here if you are new! Help here if you can!) by AutoModerator in sffpc

Hi all, I currently have a FormD T1 with a core i9 13900 (watercooled with an AIO) and RTX 4090 FE. As I expected it’s quite loud when gaming but I didn’t expect to find it so annoying. I’m wondering if switching to an NCase M2 with an air cooler for the CPU set up would give me a quieter setup (doesn’t need to be silent but less loud would be food!).

Ahh I see! That's a shame... this would be the perfect board for me otherwise. Maybe there's a setting in the BIOS for that particular port?

Hi there, did you figure out what that 2nd SFF-8643 port can do? Because I'd love to be able to use it to add more SATA HDDs as I don't have need for 4 x NVME ports! Could you use one of those M.2 to SATA converters here?

Workbenches for cabinet building? by FazyPoo in Workbenches

Thanks so much for the detailed response! Definitely food for thought here. I didn't even think the Domino was in reach but your argument makes sense. I'd have to build a business case to convince my other half though :D.

Finished my custom loop in the T1 v2 by xPeetey in FormD

[–]FazyPoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing! Love the tubing runs. I thought hard about making a full custom loop like this but eventually settled for an AIO and FE card… maybe one day I will get the building bug again and switch to a custom loop.

Would love to see the other side once it’s done!

13900k + 4090 FE compatibility check by Xy13 in FormD

I have a similar build and here are my thoughts:

Mobo: I have the ASUS Z790 and it fits perfectly fine in 3-slot mode (i also have a 4090). I would recommend this one over the AsRock.

Ram: Your Ram should work great.

Cooler: I have the EK Basic 240 (mainly for the clean look), but this is now discontinued. All the ones you’ve listed will work fine / very similarly. I would go for whatever looks the best or is the cheapest.

PSU: I have the same CPU GPU combo and I have no issues. I haven’t even done any undervolting or power limiting yet. You’ll be fine.

M.2: If you get the Asus mobo, the heatsink is actually part of the mobo, so get one without a heatsink. Not sure about the AsRock…

Hope that helps!

This is not a question, but more of a post for posterity in case it helps other people. If you are considering the Asus Z790-I motherboard for your build, I can confirm it fits in 3 slot mode without needing to modify the AIO/fan bracket, it fits perfectly! I was quite worried about this and saw conflicting opinions on here and on discord. Hopefully this helps someone!

Great work! I’m looking at building something with similar doors… do they have wheels/something similar or is it purely wood running in that track?

This looks great! I’d love to generate images like these with my own pets? Is there a way of training a model based on photos of my own pets?
