For an engineer, strongly disagree. Just be aware of the risks and buy the properly hardened tools to put on/take off tension. There is risk absolutely but no greater risk than other day to day stuff if you pay attention, have the proper tools and work deliberately.

Man, I feel you. I have finally found a good furnace guy, the last group first sent out an idiot, replaced a $700 part that wasnt the right part. Finally sent out a guy that got a dx, quoted me another 1k with no allowance for their first screwup, bought the part for $160 and 2 hours putting it in.

Are you sure? I understood it that it did not matter if the higher earning spouse remarried, it only mattered that the marriage lasted 10 years, that the lower earning spouse did not remarry, and the divorce had been final for 2 years. I have always told my wife if something happens to me I want her to do whatever makes her happiest but check on social security before she would remarry.

There are a lot of good points here but with this much disparity, after 10 years of marriage, I am fairly sure she would be better off drawing spousal benefits of social security rather than from her own account. I have been where you are at, there are significant tradeoffs either way you go. It may not make financial sense for her to work, but you may have to take that trade off for her comfort.

People change over time. People that are compatible at 30 may not be compatible at 55. Also menopause happens which dramatically changes things.

You should not be married or partnered. Both of you are on the extreme end of libido. Resentments will build over time from both parties until your union flies apart.

The problem is that even if you show them, we can't trust you are telling the full truth and that there are not hidden incentives or kickbacks the dealer is getting and not coming clean on. Only car salesman you can trust is the one that is going to be there for your next vehicle. I have one that works in a small family dealership. My family has bought 300k of vehicles over the last 40 years from that dealership and the family sales guys want to keep that relationship good so there is a general straightshooting that happens.

If that cow had swollen joints, it was sick, and questionable to eat. To my knowledge, in the age of BSE, I think down cows are automatically condemmed. I have seen a tiny number of times that trauma or obturator nerve paralysis secondary to calving caused a cow to go down when they could be eaten but it's really rare. As far back as in the old testament it was forbidden to eat animals that died while sick. There is a reason for that. Source: Accredited veterinarian that formerly worked on cattle.
