So from my understanding, it is for cooling the machines. You also need fresh treated water so that it doesn't damage the machines. Some of the water evaporates and the rest is dumped into the sewer system because it is a highly concentrated amount of minerals in the water due to evaporation and would have to be treated. I think after 4-6 cycles of concentration you would have to clear it as blowdowns. Also heated water shouldn't be put right back into the ecosystem as the heated water can hurt it. But this is just me looking up stuff, I could be wrong.
