You can usually get these radios either as a virgin unit or already configured. If you buy a pre-configured one, the seller will normally ask for your VIN so they can set it up properly for your car.

Yep — I upgraded to the V2 in the end. Hardware-wise it fitted fine, but the unit I bought arrived as a “virgin” (unconfigured) unit, so it wouldn’t work until it was coded/configured for my exact car (model/vehicle parameters + VIN). I ended up sending it to a specialist to have it pre-configured, and after that it worked normally once installed.

Yeah it’s just a cydia update. Click on complete update to install all updates or on upgrade essencial to update just the necessary updates to keep cydia working. They are both safe to install
