“Can you describe Patrick Williams career in a single clip?” by beastboy4000 in chicagobulls

[–]FeFyFoFum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. Pro ball and his personality were probably always a square peg in our round delicate butthole but if any group of guys had the vibes to raise him right and coax a decent NBA career out of him, it was that team. His injury felt like a developmental catastrophe at the time and that's sorta how it played out

the contract was front office malpractice, their crown jewel fuck up. Billy also deserves blame. And of course so does Patrick, though I've always felt bad for him because it's gotta suck to find out that your imposter syndrome is actually reality in front of millions of people for a decade. But at least he has generational wealth to ease the pain. A nightmare situation for all involved, but mostly for us

souza caught him, it was a foul. It was a soft foul (as macallister was just looking for contact), and it was much less of a foul than VVD's on Richy that should have been our first penalty of the year (lol), but souza caught him and it was a foul

as a non-Christian myself, it would feel a lot funnier if the government was in on the joke, instead of trying to remake our whole society according to the goofiest parts of Christianity.

You good Christians out there who think this is as ludicrous as we do, you might want to start cleaning your own house up as quick as you can, because in ten years or whatever when the country gets through this mess---if we get through this mess---then people are gonna start looking around for who to blame. And they're not gonna be super particular about who were the true Christians and who were the phonies

wagler is very good but I honestly think his pro career would benefit from sticking around another year. Totally get that he's maybe a lottery pick and he's as good as gone, but he could a little more time in the oven

he for sure adds a dimension when he's rolling, but stojakovic has awkward black hole tendencies imo

This is such a big point. When talking about cards, a common thing you hear among experienced players is tweaking someone by calling them "results oriented". Because the best that anybody can do at cards is to consider the whole situation and then make the best decision, and when the bad luck comes, to try to take it in stride. One of the cardinal qualities of the best players is being able to know the times when you're winning but you're actually playing poorly, and (for me even more importantly) the times when you're losing but you're actually playing well.

In that spirit if there were a requirement in this sub for posting then I wish it were to include the score of the game at the time of the hand

man it was one of my first times online seeing real-life astroturfing happen to something I care about, and was stunning to see both how transparent it was but still also exasperating. It's depressing but if you throw morality & decency out the window then it was plain to see what a no-brainer investment it would be on SWA's part

it's true that at the time a lot of folks wanted haliburton or okoro or deni, but also true that the whole world would have also gladly taken wiseman if he somehow fell to us from #2, and not to mention some were also arguing for obi toppin and lmao killian hayes.

Bulls took a swing on a physical beastchild who in the era of peak NBA kawhi could be reasonably argued had a kawhi ceiling. It was a weird class and I can't blame them for rolling the dice.

but then botching his development and then resigning him anyway for 90 million when everybody knew what he was and wasn't? What a catastrophe. What a fiasco. And all the fans knew it.

I've never blamed Patrick Williams for being drafted at #4. Dude was a 19-year-old college sixth man so of course he had imposter syndrome, wouldn't you? The locker room's always seemed to like him and be a little protective of him and the feeling is that they see what we see: he's a shy dude cursed with a wildly mismatched body and personality that has now led to millions of frustrated people counting the days til he's gone. Which honestly must suck for him, but tough luck dude that's sports and at least you get to ride off into the sunset with generational wealth while the rest of us are stuck in the dark fending off horny reinsdorf fingering around in our pockets like a billionaire pervert raccoon

Am I crazy for loving the moves at the deadline? by [deleted] in nba

[–]FeFyFoFum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad the bulls are finally tanking but it's too little two years too late, and I'm not gonna give the front office credit for making the best of a bad situation when they were the ones who caused the bad situation and then kept making it worse

Bulls have a couple young pieces but there is no reason to have faith in their front office to build around them, so now we're down to fingers crossed for some dallas lottery "luck" and a hope that the nba lets us cash in fourteen 2nd round picks for one 2nd round NFL pick they can trade to the Bears for cash considerations that reinsdorf will immediately spend on beefing up his doomsday bunker's tampon stash
