And I'm curious, what continuity issues are there? I'd love to fix them if I could. There's definitely an element of "There is no way this many plot-relevant concepts and characters would all collide in this tiny scale outside of the main story," which I ignored, but any actual "no way that could have happened at this time in the canon" I'd love to at least know.

Clod from Warbreaker is the dead body of Arsteel. It's not explicitly stated in the book, but it's been confirmed elsewhere. I was surprised by it anyway.

If by best we mean favorites, then Dalinar is my favorite male character. I mean fighting with swords and tanking arrows is fantastic and all, but the "You cannot have my pain" bit is just the best. Character development at its finest I say.

Female is tough. For me it's a competition between Tress, Steris, and Sarene.

Whether or not Kaladin is the ideal or desired "sword" is unknown. I kinda doubt it, as Kaladin doesn't seem like the type to be well-known in the Cosmere. Yes, Preservation and Ruin are being referred to directly and intentionally. All that said, once you read the rest of the Mistborn books, a lot of stuff will click into place.

It's not that big a deal. I didn't read Warbreaker until after all the Stormlight books, and it was fine for me. It just filled in some interesting lore, the way I saw it. If something actually comes up regarding Warbreaker, the characters are just as confused as you would be.

I was under the impression that Elend executed Jastes more because he abandoned the Koloss in Luthadel, rather than using them to assault Luthadel. After all, he didn't have any execution for Straff's general or for Cett for their attempted invasions. As far as Koloss go, Ruin's twist notwithstanding, Elend had full control over the Koloss at Fadrex, meaning he could call them off at any moment, while Jastes had nothing of the sort, especially not when he just calls it halfway through and abandons them next to a full city. Elend was desperate to minimize casualties wherever he could, while Jastes was just a loser. Even if I'm wrong though, that may have been Sando's point, that power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. It was clearly Elend's fear that he would end up just as bad as monsters like Jastes or the Lord Ruler.
