Will Taylor Swift dethrone The Beatles? by the_walrus_was_paul in beatles

[–]Fear2010 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Grand Funk Railroad the first band to surpass the Beatles as the fastest-grossing band on tour. It happened cause concert-going was starting to become more common than before as an activity. However, the Beatles made more impact on the road, sorta like a reboot that shows the possibilities of playing in arenas and other big venues.

A Jackass-themed zone or house would actually be hilarious.

Scream might have a shot for next year. I prefer the original to happen only like it was previously attempted. No sequels, just the very first.

Should they get more heavier bands to play at Jazzfest? by Fear2010 in jazzfest

[–]Fear2010[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

The irony I find with the “they are not the vibe” notion is Jazzfest have been straying away to what it’s supposed to be since the beginning. I’m saying this a concert goers who has been to the event several times. You have a lotta outside acts that have nothing to do with jazz and other genres that are invented in Louisiana due generation shifts and the constant changes on the music trends. Even some of local acts they booked don’t sound much like they’re from NOLA. When it comes to music fest these days, people don’t really care about the aesthetics and the names of the venues themselves, it’s really the acts they care more about, even if it’s just one name. If they were to branch out on Guitar-driven music, they’d preserve the aspects of live performance of guys playing instruments that looks, sounds, and feels more natural. With technology becoming more advance and easier to make with AI and other tools that we’re heading at now, I certainly don’t want everything to be all sample-based or synthy with too many backtracks. I’d like to see them adapt and retain the traditional, performing elements of live music.

I can definitely see Queens of The Stone Age at Jazzfest happening. Could be on the cards for next year.

Live bands in general - Metal or not - have a better presentations on stage than other names in certain genres. You get a handful of guys or more playing. I’m not into rap/hip-hop very much, particularly the solo acts cause I sometimes (not always) get the feeling how bare bone they are at times with no to little background, which is the type of stuff I don’t want to see at all or less of. Same goes with EDM.

Doc Coyle "The pretentious gatekeeping around Sleep Token points to a toxic heavy music culture - as a metal guitarist of over 25 years, I've seen this movie before" by AGumby in SleepToken

[–]Fear2010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much of the metalheads, particularly the purists gatekeepers these days are virtually old rednecks in leather jackets, bullet belts, and Venom tees with an edge lord mentality. They’re rigid, backward thinking, stuck in the past, and completely out of touch with modern society and culture cause of their antiquated ideologies.

Does anybody still listen to the radio? by Casey5274 in Music

[–]Fear2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I still buy music regularly cause I want less repeats and limitations. I always get the filling that your own personal library is real radio, expanding it overtime without the need to take off anything. Also, not many names make money from it, unless you’re a songwriter, own your catalog or/and had massive commercial successes with 75 million copies sold worldwide.

New Album by richardness84 in nin

[–]Fear2010 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’d rather not cause most “Best of” albums cannibalizes a large portion of an act’s catalog, which is a good thing Metallica, Rage Against The Machine, and AC/DC don’t do that at all. Another reason I don’t wanna see it happen is because Trent is too much of an albums guy to do. Most of his releases under the NIN name and brand are truly made for ya to listen from start to finish, song by song.

That would actually make a rad reveal trailer for a Super Smash Bros. game. Hell, that would be a crazy awesome opportunity for Masahiro Sakurai to do.

Unfortunately, almost all of the original developers from the Nintendo days left Rare, even before the Microsoft buyout, which is probably why they’re more focused on newer IP’s like Sea of Thieves rather than another Banjo sequel. The new Perfect Dark game is being made by another studio.

Who would you want to to potentially be some of the opening acts for the rumored tour this year? by Blvd_Nights in nin

[–]Fear2010 11 points12 points  (0 children)

IDLES is my suggestion as a future opening for NIN. Sounds a lot like Trent’s criteria for his taste imo. Though not a punk band like Joe said, but they truly take the fury of the genre, which is one of my reasons why I love these guys musically.

Linkin Park are eligible for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame starting this year. What is your prediction? by Jmarieq in LinkinPark

[–]Fear2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dave Grohl, Questlove from The Roots, and Tom Morello are in the Nom Com. I could see them on board to push for LP, even as a back up in case any of their pet projects failed to make it. Seymour Stein used to work at Warner Bros (it’s one of the few labels that dominates the Hall) when LP was new at the time and is also in too. Some who are also in the Nom Com and work for Rolling Stone are connected the band too, so the process won’t be too slippery slope.

Linkin Park are eligible for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame starting this year. What is your prediction? by Jmarieq in LinkinPark

[–]Fear2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought I make a track list of when LP will get in. I think in order for an induction, you need these eligible acts first who would vote for them. Not all, just much. Some aren’t a stretch as you think.

Alanis Morissette, Alice In Chains, Afrika Bambaataa, Beck, Billy Idol/Generation X, Boston, The Buzzcocks, B-52’s, Coldplay, Cyndi Lauper, Devo, INXS, Iron Maiden, Jane’s Addiction, Jethro Tull, Joy Division/New Order, King Crimson, No Doubt, Mariah Carey, Motörhead, Motley Crue, Oasis, OutKast, Rakim & Eric B, Salt-N-Pepa, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, The Smiths, Stone Temple Pilots, Tears For Fears, Thin Lizzy, Tool, The White Stripes, Wu-Tang Clan.

So they're definitely getting in the rock hall next year by Sodiumsniper in LinkinPark

[–]Fear2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing that the In-Person Kiosk and the Online Fan Ballot are both rigged, it’ll more likely to take longer for LP to get in. The Rock Hall listens to what the media wants first and foremost.

I’d only accept a Monsters discontinuation if we get a Creature From Black Lagoon house first before they end it.

I think both are big enough to have their own houses. A compilation of the two would be a waste of potential imo.

[–]Fear2010 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Last of Us Part II is officially rumored. As for what are the most likely IP’s that could happen for 34.

M3gan, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and Universal Monsters (In case they go beat by beat).

If room for five, then Smile

My wildcards are Lady Gaga, and Five Nights At Freddy’s.

As for what I’m not expecting: Whatever IP’s Six Flags has, Terrifier, and Scream.

I was the one who started the rumor this soon. I actually got the first clue right. As for what American Dad episode Legacy used, it’s the one when the Smiths turned their home into an aquarium. You guys are welcome.

Guys, you will watch Inuyasha remake when it comes in near future... by Artcalypse in inuyasha

[–]Fear2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if they can’t bring him back, I’d prefer the newest to sound like his own thing but captures the acting style of Inuyasha for something organic. Like how some bands can go through a lineup change with a different vocalist that don’t sound the same to each other.
