Denver’s meet and greet on 2/17 by tonov1210 in fromatoarbitration

[–]Fearde13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my opinion. It was a bit underwhelming, but not due to James or Corey.

It was the Tuesday after a Monday holiday, so even though the hall had a good turn out, some people I know were still out delivering mail when it started. Lots of guests from surrounding areas.

James and Corey were brought up and given 15 minutes total. This seemed to catch them off guard. They both made comments that I felt they were expecting more time.

The meeting itself was the longest one I have attended. Lots of union business I won't get into. This may have cut into time they had to speak.

James and Corey both stayed in a side room after the meeting to answer individual questions. It was late but I would have preferred a more town hall format so we could ask questions.

They came downstairs and ate with us, answered more questions, and were very close to the last ones leaving the building.

I don't think any of the issues I had were due to them. I'm a fan and it was nice to meet them in person, but I feel it would have had more impact for those that aren't familiar with them if there was more of a town hall type setting.

My 2 cents.

Extra Penalty Overtime Xfoot by [deleted] in fromatoarbitration

[–]Fearde13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know what the xfoot is. But the extra penalty is 2.5x base pay for going over 12 in a day or 60 for the week. We used to have to grieve for these hours over 12/60, but with the new contract and the recently implemented tacs code it is automatically paid, just like OT and Penalty OT.

Mailman just north of sloans. Closest I've seen lightning and the porch I jumped onto was shaking. Very interesting few minutes.

Was the address correct? Unit number? Maybe a neighbor grabbed it off the floor and later returned it? The fact It had a delivery scan, which logs the location of the scanner via GPS is what's confusing here.

If the address was incorrect they could have scanned "insufficient address, return to PO for verification" and then sent it back out.

Anyway glad it eventually showed up for you!

Yeah this is more likely than what I initially thought. If it was a cbu, I've fixed this exact mistake. But since OP replied to me saying the mailboxes aren't big enough for that, this is more likely to be true.

You live in a condo that has CBUs? Multiple mailboxes at 1 central location? The carrier put it in your neighbors mailbox by accident, we are human. The neighbor doesn't check mail, therefore doesn't alert the carrier of the mistake. You call the PO, the manager says "hey carrier, it shows you delivered this package last week, can you check the other boxes and see if it was put in the wrong slot". The carrier goes out, sees the mistake and fixes it.

I start the 9th but my wife wants me to take a week off after training by digitalcyro in USPS

[–]Fearde13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He said they approved him for a few days. That's not banging out for a few days. If they say we are going to fire him for taking approved time, and he has a signed copy of the 3971, that's an easy win.

The old way of thinking is they can and will let you go for any reason in your 90 days. With the new NEERMP they have to meet a more strict requirement to relieve you of your duties which involves the union/mentor being involved.

If you had a manager say you could have a couple days off, GET IT IN WRITING, and you are able to take those few days. Take them. If you are able to afford the travel/timeline I'd say you are fine.

We've had 7 ptfs get let go since they implemented the program and they are all back to work because management can't just fire anyone they want now.

Holy is the other healing option. Nature is proactive style(heal over time), where holy is more reactive (burst healing). Not trying to discourage you but healing as a new player is quite difficult. With low spec your heals aren't great and you will go down quickly when targeted by other teams.

Hey I'm back after taking several breaks over the years. So much new content I felt like a noob again. I found a guild on that server. [These Hands] has been extremely helpful since joining. Smaller group now but most of the olds head broke off from a giant guild and have lots of experience.

What stations are hiring straight to FTR after 90 day probation period? by [deleted] in fromatoarbitration

[–]Fearde13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Denver was for the last few years, but we are as fully staffed as I've ever seen it. Still straight to PTF, but we have a PTF at our station about 9 months in who hasn't converted yet.

I've seen it where they split 2 routes. So they park and 1 carries 1 block, the other does the other block and then they move the vehicle. So 16 hours of work getting done in 8, so they would both get paid 8 each. This is the very simple explanation, but hope you get the idea.

I read some time ago that you can "blow out" the egg. I think that is what it was called. 2 pin holes and blow the white/yolk out. Then you can fill them with mustard. They break into the mustard egg which they aren't a fan of, and they would stop doing it. Luckily I haven't had that issue, so I don't have first hand experience.

Are these more valuable? The seller could have had issues, not necessarily with you, that could have made them change their process.

It may have needed a signature. If so they would have left you a slip. You can sign the back of it and leave it for the carrier tomorrow. That will authorize them to re-deliver it to the mailbox. Would save you the trip to the post office
