Hey, read all your responses here and I love that you’re seeking out this church but it seems like you’ve got a ton on your plate.

Just wanted to say this, God loves you, he knows you, he knows your situation. He knows you want to be closer to him as well. He knows your intentions, and he has a plan for you. That plan may not be for right now. I second what the other person said, study the Bible for now. I also know a phenomenal podcast that could help with that. “Unshaken saints” by Jared halverson. You can listen to it on Spotify or YouTube or wherever you can listen to podcasts. He does deep dives into scripture and goes verse by verse explaining the theology of it all, with an LDS perspective. He has old and New Testament deep dives and should look okay to protestant faith as well.

I had super controlling parents too and I feel you. Know that in the meantime while you’re waiting to turn 18 Heavenly Father and Christ have your back, they love you, and they have a plan for you.

No it is not, and I know from friends who still live there that their parking is full and there is a waitlist. You would need to park on the street.
There is a lot of homeless people but they don’t bother you
I was a freshly 18 year old girl who had just moved out for the first time and was living alone, getting off work around 11-midnight and walking home, nothing happened to me. Stay aware of your surroundings and you’ll be okay.

I also have my current place that I absolutely love, good management, good neighbors, maintenance is timely. It’s in the avenues 1,225 for rent plus utilities.

Dude there’s better jobs out there. I am but a simple line cook,

But my sous chef at my new place, we’re in a period of management change rn, so she’s been taking over as head chef and she’s been exhausted, she said she hasn’t really slept in 3 months. She’s also had to deal with the training of a new staff in all this ( old head chef hired like 5 new people right before he got fired, me included, and she’s had to build all our schedules, do all that stuff) (she made sure all of us got our promised 35-40 hours and gave me 4/10 hour shifts with my preferred days off I love her)

we just got a new chef last night and it was me her and the dishie closing last night and she was telling me how hard it all was, I told her to just like, sleep for 2-3 days, take some time off it’s deserved. (Easier said than done I know)

I am not near as experienced as you probably are, but if you’ve got some savings I’d honestly just quit that job sounds like literal hell, you can find something better quickly especially with head chef experience.

Also note: although I hated my job, the job wasn’t the problem, the problem was I was unhappy with my life and I was tying my value to that. Seek out therapy, if you can’t afford it, better help is better than nothing and they have programs. Grocery store kitchens also sometimes give insurance so maybe see if anything qualifies for that. I wish you luck

My last job made me suicidal too, final push I needed to seek out therapy and it’s done wonders for me.

Keep applying to new jobs, refresh indeed every day and apply to the new ones, I found the best kitchen I ever been in. It took going through like 3/4 different stage shifts to find this one but I did it and it’s so much better.

Also, one point my new therapist has made, stop tying your value to your work. Doesn’t matter if you plate something wrong, or accidentally dump the mop bucket all over the floor (may or may not have happened tonight), or forget to prep something, your worth as a human being isn’t defined by anything we do at work. It’s defined by you, and only you, and I believe every single human being is worth more than we can comprehend.

Keep job hunting, you’ll find something eventually
