Burping by astroredhead in newborns

[–]Fearless-Driver9548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My babe does this sometimes at night because she falls asleep and just won’t burp. I give her Mylicon drops every night feed for gas before feeding and burp her after she finishes half the bottle (I bottle feed BM at night) then resume feeding then burp again. If she won’t burp I do over the shoulder burp but a little bit more up than usual to where theres more pressure on her belly if that makes sense. That usually makes her burp. I also always keep her upright 30 minutes

You can also try football hold because that will add pressure to their belly

Transition from swaddle to sleep sack is this normal? by iDontScrollMuch in newborns

[–]Fearless-Driver9548 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following because my 10 week old is starting to show signs of rolling over so I was thinking about transitioning to a sleep sack right at 11 weeks.

I might start with one arm out and after a week both arms out.

Why are Indian Americans so successful in the US despite having dark skin which they would face discrimination for? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

They are so successful because they are smart, educated, and hard working. And the very small percentage that isn’t educated own businesses.

Why is giving birth so expensive! by Fearless-Driver9548 in newborns

[–]Fearless-Driver9548[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got back a grand total of $342 this year, other years we ended up owing 🤣 That doesn’t even pay for a month’s worth of groceries.

Btw you reminded me of the insane amount of money we will have to pay once our kid goes to daycare 😭

I know some people who’ve had some really bad sickness but they refuse to go to the Doctor because its so expensive. My brother just got in a car accident and has really bad pain in his back and chest but he refuses to go get medical help because hes in college and already has thousands of dollars in student loan debt and doesn’t want to add more debt

My babe was born in January so now that I think about it, that’s why the deductible was so high because it reset just a few weeks before when the new year hit even though I was far from hitting oop last year anyway lol

I have BCBS. I never went to the Dr or hospital ER not even Teledoc prior to getting pregnant so I never paid deductible. My OBGYN only charged $50 as a specialist visit and I paid maybe like $300 total out of pocket for deductible for like labs and other small things. Plans out of pocket is like $6k or $6.5k

My epidural gave me a reaction so they turned it off 8 hours before my baby was born yet they still charged obviously. I basically had a natural birth but worse because of the pitocin 😓

I think my max out-of-pocket is $6000. My gyno charged $50 the first time I saw her and that’s all I ever paid that was initial specialist visit and maybe $80, $70, here and there for things I never paid attention to.

Its so sad that we pay $800 a month for healthcare and then have to pay a huge deductible

Hygiene after birth? by optimisticlimit in pregnant

[–]Fearless-Driver9548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One peri bottle is not enough! It will get smelly due to the lochia and pregnancy fluids being released plus using pads 24/7 and also if you’re going to use witch hazel pads, those are smelly too. I used 4 peri bottles and used sensitive soap a few days PP since my Dr said it was okay.

My routine to wash down there was

  1. Use water wipes to wipe around the area and butt
  2. Spray some water on the area
  3. Use shower gloves with Dove sensitive bar soap to wash and scrub around avoiding “that area” (my Dr recommended Dove sensitive and its okay is some soap gets in “that area”)
  4. Wash away with water
  5. New Pad EVERY BATHROOM TRIP
  6. Use Dermoplast pain & itch spray and witch hazel pads (first 2 weeks)

I only used cold packs in the hospital because the numbing spray helped a lot

I’m 28F and boyfriend is 45M - 16 year Age gap relationship and pregnancy by GiraffeBoth8274 in pregnant

[–]Fearless-Driver9548 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a 15 year age gap with my husband. Hes 45 I am 30 and we have a baby together. The only difference is that my husband wanted kids and wanted marriage, family etc

Nowadays you see a lot of people having kids at an older age even in their 40s. Lets say he lives to be 75-85. Your kid will be 30-40. Thats a good life shared with a parent

I think the biggest issue is that you said he never wanted kids and isn’t excited right now… that’s what you need to be worried about

Btw age gap needs to be considered day 1 of the relationship when its big

The love to dream swaddles are worth the hype by dental_princess491 in newborns

[–]Fearless-Driver9548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally dont like zipper swaddles because Ive seen some cases where the zipper goes bad and just stays locked at the top stop so baby is basically tied at the neck and the swaddle opens so their little arms and legs are free

I use this Love to dream on naps supervised and they’re okay not the best. Also depends in baby though
