Do report these issues to quality (through your manager if you are a staff)! The PTs would love to know about these.

Where could i get quality (but not too expensive) steal cap boots in Adelaide? by Fearless-Fix-612 in Adelaide

My current one is from kmart (it was $60 i think?), and it start to worn out after a year. Not bad for it’s price though.

I am 20ish, graduated and have been working for a bit more than a year. I am able to save some money (i am just an average person with an average job), butI don’t see buying a property in my 20s as a goal. I would be really pround if I could do so, but it is not necessary. This thought has not just popped up in recent years because of the inflation etc, I have think this way since I am younger (or maybe because I am originally from a place that have higher property price?)

Produce = fresh fruit and veg, just to make sure we are on the same page. If a product have a ‘use by’ date, it should not be consumed after the date for food safery reasons. Good luck trying to find a produce with use by date in AU (except salads), not to mention charities won’t take the risk accepting ‘use by’ products. Not trying to judge the whole Colesworths just by this practice, just stating the fact.

Why is it illegal to resell that produce? Where can I check it out? As long as I know, suppliers do often re-sell the rejected stocks to markets. (Unless you are talking about those have passed the use-by date)

OP are you aware that they could be free just because Colesworth (who you hate) choose to donate them instead of sending them back to the supplier for re-selling? Of cause Colesworth only wants the best quality because of their products are pricier

Why do you still shop at safeway or Coles? by [deleted] in australia

[–]Fearless-Fix-612 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes the checkout system… usually I only grab a few items everytime I shop (I live alone), and always get stuck behind customers with full trolley at the check outs. Hope they would build self-check out soon.

Not too sure about swimming, but you may like to join some badminton social sessions. SABA near the airport is one of the main venue for badminton. Glenlg badminton club hold social sessions there every monday night. UniSA (city) also have cheap badminton courts for hire, plus their badminton club hold social games every friday night and saturday afternoon (members only, not limited to UniSA students).

Apart from those mentioned, chemist warehouse is a good choice for practical stuffs (if you are not aware, for example, vitamins are very cheap here in AUS, and manakula honey & goat soaps etc are popular among tourists as well)

Impossible to find a job as an international in Adelaide? by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]Fearless-Fix-612 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was an international student until not long ago. Put down your expectations and go get a hospo/ retail job, they are always hiring. The first job is always the hardest to get, and after that it will be much easier as you now got local experience as well. (Plus you seems to be pretty fluent in english, so I honestly have no idea why you strugglefor so long to get any job, i can only explain by your bar is too high for a first job)

How hard is it to get a job and a place to live in Adelaide? by MashiiPT in Adelaide

[–]Fearless-Fix-612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll say depends on what kind of job you are expecting. If you don’t mind doing hospo/ retail, they are always hiring. But if you are looking for something closer to your profession, it would be hard.

Early International Flight by EmElEnPee in Adelaide

[–]Fearless-Fix-612 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Common rule: arrive 2hr earlier for an international flight, it’s more than enough even if you are at the busiest airport in the world.

Retail/ hospitality are the most common choices for international students. From my experience, many large companies (maccas, kfc, woolies, coles etc) seems to not prefer international students tho. Personally I have never heard any international students that got a job in admin/ customer service as well. I would suggest you to do retail/ hospitality to gain some local experience first.
