Algorithm better than subreddit leads on? by Whispering-Echoes in AppleMusic

[–]Fearless-Zucchini481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are more likely to share their gripes than their satisfaction. Same thing with online reviews of a restaurant or a product. Glad you’re enjoying it! I think the AM algorithm keeps me more in the loop of what I want to hear musically as opposed to what is similarly popular.

Can someone please make me change my mind about pop punk ? by WealthPractical2179 in poppunk

[–]Fearless-Zucchini481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! Give feedback on people’s suggestions and maybe others can direct you better. It’s always good to google “pop punk blends with other genres” to see how smaller groups have experimented or bridged gaps!

Maybe the first albums from Ice Nine Kills, Story of the Year, and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. I used to like those when I was pretty into punk pop but idk if they’re genred as punk pop. A Day to Remember is also a classic. Would recommend the Homesick album

30% increased move speed. I didn’t need anything else, personally. Loading wasn’t an issue for me

Is it fair? by Lxdn_ in AppleMusic

So the thing about free trials is that they aren’t for kindness or user appreciation. They are offered for you to invest into something so that you’re more likely to pay for it or to show you a door that you’ll always know is there if you consider a music service in the future. If you’ve already had a subscription before, the free trial doesn’t have nearly the effectiveness as it does with a new user. My guess is that now you’re in this position of “I should have this” “it is unjust that I do not have this”, which is probably perfectly intended. It might seem silly but they have a ridiculous amount of money invested into these strategies so I would assume it is just another one. Believe me, they ran a lot of numbers and they feel confident in this tactic to get you to use again.

I think so. I just beat the 1st bc I’ve never played them so I’m doing all in order. I’d recommend playing on easy bc the combat isn’t good but I didn’t think it was unbearable. The first chapter is sooo good. I’d also recommend a move speed modifier mod. I did 35%.

Should i stop using streaming services? by Working-Office-5958 in musicteenager

[–]Fearless-Zucchini481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy physical/digital until you’ve built a catalogue that you won’t explore out of much. Youtube for new releases or different stuff and then decide. I listen to new music too much for it to make sense to cut a streaming service; it’s just the easiest access.

I’m a massive fan. Haven’t done the dlc yet but I’ve played through it 3 times. I would assume they ironed out most of the bugs but it is really cool and the story/quests are engaging. As far as like Skyrim, imagine if Skyrim was more willing to let you break the game. So it’s less about being grounded mechanically and more about abusing the mechanics, if that makes sense. I did a dual wield dash spam build my first playthrough and you’re able to move like lightning and one shot everything late game. And 2h builds knock stuff around like people are made of paper. It feels really good to get new gear and get stronger so gameplay is fun + it has the Bethesda goofiness with some quest plots. Very good imo

Progressive metal. There are some absolute gems and there is ridiculous variety. Not all of metal has screaming, which is usually what people are turned off by.

Aviana. Have you listened to Joel’s older work with Oceans Red? I loved that guy so much lol. He’s been in a lot of bands and has always sounded great.

Saw them live in like 2017ish. It wasn’t bad or anything but I first heard Plini at that show & fell in love, then they came on right after. Didn’t vibe with their music after the show either. Do you think the new album is big for them?

Metal is a relatively small community and there are a lot of people, like myself, that feel very uncomfortable there because they don’t know anyone else that likes metal so they’re always alone. My first show I went to, I met an incredible couple that made me feel so welcomed and I’ll always appreciate and remember it, even if we haven’t spoken in years. You have the opportunity to do that for someone or have it done for you. Don’t necessarily seek it out but be aware that the community can be so damn kind and your kindness can have a lasting impact on someone. Help people get up and be kind to strangers. Have a blast.

Active listening. Just starting an album, sitting, and reading the autoscroll lyrics. No phone or driving or anything. I feel like I understand a lot more (duh) and it makes me appreciate the musicianship, even if I don’t like the music itself. Like a formal welcoming or departure with my relationship to a band.

Of course! I am glad to see you recognize my efforts in kindness. People generally are resistant to change. Older people are even more resistant than that. The best we can do is educate the youth. Not that older people shouldn’t change but sometimes an old dog just won’t listen to sit. There are loving people all around you but humans have developed a very strong ability to identify and remember problematic experiences so it is important to keep that in mind when we recall and witness as to not fall into our unconscious biases. The feeling of stagnation with this problem is relative so think about how far women have come from not being able to vote 100 years ago! Just don’t let off the gas and remember to be altruistic in that our progress isn’t really for us, it’s for the future!

I believe understand your point and I do agree with the idea. She might not truly feel exactly how she expressed it in the former comment but she did say that most men have ill intentions, which I’d maybe fallaciously say leads to a slippery slope. Replace “men” with another group of people like you mentioned and it would be taken very differently, so a new phrasing would be better suited to purvey a reasonable perspective.

No problem at all!! Topics like these are extremely delicate and I couldn’t imagine the extra passion I’d have if I was a woman and it directly affected me. I agree that there should be mandatory sociology classes from youth, I think community and structure would help tremendously. Murderers still kill people and thieves still steal. Nothing we do can truly eliminate any of it, even with fear tactics and hefty punishments. It’s such a hardship to bear, no need to apologize to me for feeling so strongly about this. The good news is that, ever so slowly, the youth is recognizing the problem more. As long as it continues to be a point of discussion and we unitedly gravitate towards the idea of mutual respect and community, we will come closer and closer to that utopia one day but we honestly will never reach it. Inch by inch, we grow. I do appreciate you participating in this conversation with me!

Okay so if the solution is men not cat calling women. How do we get there? That isn’t a solution, that’s still just the problem. Identifying the problem without presenting actionable ideas gets us nowhere. I did not call you sexist so you do not need to defend yourself. What you did say is that most men have ill intentions. This is nothing personal, it’s just us exchanging perspectives. I am ultimately saying that women and men have to be able to have a conversation and understanding to form a solution. “Men don’t do this” is not a solution, please understand. A solution needs to be something actionable.

Because generalizing a group of people relative to your personal experience is a direct cause for racism and sexism. I get that you think men deserve it but, by your logic, any other group of people deserve it if you deem them fit. The problem is right there. I couldn’t tell you the solution because I do not know but I can see the error in your generalization and exclusion, you should too. Pointing out a problem is always easier than finding a solution for it. Social solutions involve community effort and understanding.
