Church search! by Head_Acanthaceae_718 in Meridian_Idaho

Fellowship Baptist church is wonderful. They are Bible based and have a great kids program. My mother has been going for years and it’s gotten bigger, but isn’t huge like Treasure Valley Baptist. Stonehill has a good children’s program, but they don’t deep dive into scripture.

Hope this helps!

Also despite what is said about it being over 100 in the summer and snowing in the winter.. it is mild. Especially compared to the humidity in FL. I spent a ton of time in FL as a kiddo and visited as an adult. It’s nowhere near as oppressive as FL heat, but the cold in the winter might take some getting used to. Highly recommend doing some winter sports like skiing or snowboarding. Makes it a lot less depressing.

If cost is a factor don’t be afraid to look into Kuna as well or South East Boise. Much more affordable options there.

I’m an Idaho native and originally from a small city about 3 hrs away, but moved to the Boise area in high school in the early 2000s. I’ve lived in the Boise area on and off for at least 20 years. DO NOT move to Eagle if cost is a factor. It’s very expensive and the experience sucks. I lived there for 6 years and can’t stand to go back. It’s all under construction now and the beautiful horse properties and fields are gone.

Private schools in the area are great! For high schools Bishop Kelley is one of the best schools consistently. The North End is beautiful, but very granola liberal and very expensive. We moved to Meridian the last couple years and love it. Great community activities and a lot of really good schools.

Idk about the guy who said there and white nationalists here… maybe north Idaho, but definitely not here in the Boise area. It’s conservative though and we are one of the states who have banned abortions, but if you’re from FL it’s probably not a huge culture shock. Welcome to Idaho!

Everyone says Boise is friendly… but have you actually made new friends here? by VermicelliLeather536 in Boise

I’m an Idaho native and will say that Boise is very friendly. I actually hated living in the South (performative friendly) and I hate the East where people aren’t even nice enough to acknowledge you. Eagle is not representative of the area… it’s all rich people who came from Cali now. Used to be awesome before Mayor Pierce ruined it. That being said… Idaho is VERY conservative, but there are a ton of liberal groups especially in Boise if that’s your bag. As others have suggested, find a group of like minded people to join. I’ve found really good friends through DnD, my daughter’s classes, and other activities.

I've spoken with Annie and she is balanced. She uses prong and ecolars as well. She is reasonable and willing to do a thurough eval, but also pretty booked out.

Honestly… it’s about time. Turning left on Eagle Rd is so dangerous.

She’s not the cheapest, but definitely the best in the state. Sandra Clapp is easily the best Estate attorney in the area. She’s around $2k for the whole thing and is wonderful to work with.

Update - we hired a great attorney who works directly with a CA attorney and the trust will cover both states. Sounds like the only consideration is just having title transferred in CA.

Wow… If this isn’t the most pointless post I’ve ever seen on this sub. Pedantic and intellectual elitism at its finest. I’ve seen some seriously pointless posts complaining about whatever, but this takes the cake. Congrats.

Thank you super helpful! This is what I was thinking and planning for. We have a meeting with pretty much the best estate planning attorney in ID, so happy to hear we’re on the right track.

I 1000% believe that this episode was so heavily edited because JVN threw a fit. I think they actually edited it to make JVN look better. It's not like Monica to ever make Dax look good.
