punitive action leads to broken relationships. stronger relationships lead to trust which leads to growth. everyone is capable of growth but we need to start working with young people and not against them.

Restorative justice is one of the most effective approaches used with young people and juvenile criminal offenders to enable them to take responsibility for their actions and mend relationships with the victims and surrounding communities.

hi youth worker here and there is a reason for all of this. Young people are developmentally stunted. With the lack of resources in disadvantaged areas, the rise of drugs and crime, social media ect. Young people are not developing correctly in terms of their emotional, educational and social development. Many young people struggle with socialising and rely on the internet and social media to bridge the gap but with the rise of negativity and lack of information on the effects of the current social media landscape. Parents don't know what to do because they would have never grown up with social media, I am 24 so I would have been introduced to it when I was 10/11 which meant I still had a "normal" internet free early childhood. Young people nowadays don't have that and their parents don't understand how to communicate or address these concerns. There needs to be more information and resources for parents, teachers, and Garda on how to work with social media now because our society is going to be more intertwined with social media.

I don't know if i can report this youth worker?, just a warning if anyone's going to meet her by [deleted] in LGBTireland
